Relaxing and Stress Relieving

To plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow. –Audrey Hepburn

Some students find the activity relaxing and stress-relieving, for overall mental health benefits. Caring for the plants gives the entire family a chance to work together. If you have neighbors who also garden, the activity sometimes offers social interaction. Gardening also offers a form of moderate outdoor exercise.

Growing your own vegetables can be fun as well as rewarding. All you need to get started is - some decent soil and few plants and this way you provide fresh healthy vegetables to your family and loved ones. Akshara Tripathi and many other students of the senior section gave an interesting insight into their gardening hobby and showed to what extent they have been indulging themselves in this activity which gave them a sense of belongingness to their surroundings.

Finally, students have been keeping a record of each and everything they do in their home garden as it helps them focus for the next planting season. This indeed has been one of the most important ways of improving their gardening – they have been paying attention to how the plants are growing and have been constantly noting down their successes and failures in the garden notebook.
