Origami Activity (Duck) (23rd April, 2018)

Origami is an art of paper folding and creating a new figure or shape. This involves a lot of patience and accuracy while folding the paper. The students of class II made a duck using this art form and added more colour and vibrancy by drawing clouds, trees, ponds, etc. in order to enhance the whole look of it. They also wrote a slogan on ‘The Earth Day’along with the scenery. The activity was conducted on 23.04.2018.


Students also converted plastic bottles into beautiful planters. They had brought small plants which were later planted in them. By the end of the day students were quite happy with the things made by them using waste materials.


Paper Tearing And Pasting Activity (Primary Section)

Tearing paper into small pieces can be fun and satisfying for the tiny tots. The act of tearing paper encourages use of fingers and co-ordination skills. In order to perform this activity they move their fingers and hands in different directions. The students of class-I had great fun doing this activity and simultaneously were made aware of importance of trees in our environment. They pasted green and brown pieces of papers on a cutout of a tree and were excited to see it. They were enthusiastic performing this interesting activity.


Sparrow House Making Activity (Primary Section)

Sparrow is a species of birds that can be easily recognised because it lives very close to humans. It prefers life close to human settlements , including both urban and rural areas. A large number of sparrows decreased dramatically in the last few years. This little magical bird that is gradually disappearing from our skies and neighbourhoods needs immediate help to survive. By bringing it back we are safeguarding our childrens’ future for a green and healthy future.

As part of Earth Day activities students of class III & IV prepared sparrow houses to help sparrows thrive. They used cardboard boxes and straws and unused material lying at home. They were careful while making entrance holes of the right size and drain holes. Later they took away the sparrow house made by them and placed in safe areas.


Careers Day at Kanpur Road

Careers Day was held at WUCC, Kanpur Road on 22nd April, 2018 to enlighten the students and parents on various career options. Dr. Vikram Singh from Noida University was the Chief Guest. Mr. Jayant Krishna and Dheeraj Sanghi (IIT Kanpur) were the guests of honour. Delegates from various Universities and experts from various fields interacted with the students and their parents and counselled them.


Special Assembly On Debating Skills

A special assembly was held on 21st April in the School Auditorium, in which Mr. Khushpreet Saluja, an IIM Kolkata alumnus, a very talented orator and debater who was an ex-student of CMS, Kanpur road campus, graced the occasion and briefed the students regarding the Debating Skills. In his 10 minutes of interaction with the students Mr. Saluja briefed the students on different debating skills, the parameters on which a participant is assessed and subtle nuances which should be kept in the mind while speaking.

An Inter House Debate was conducted on the topic ‘Conservation And Development Can Go Hand In Hand .’


Mock Mun (Model United Nations) (18th April, 2018)

An orientation Programme by Ms. Ananya was held on 18th April, 2018 in the school auditorium. She briefed the students of the Junior and the Senior Sections about the importance of MUN and the proper way of conducting it . A small mock MUN by the students of the senior section in which each participant spoke for at least two minutes was also held on the basis of the points and parameters mentioned by MS. Ananya.

Mr. Nikunj, a graduate from National Law University, Lucknow and a corporate lawyer working with the largest law firm in India –Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas, addressed the students of Junior Section The purpose of the visit was to appraise the students about Model United Nations (MUN), a gateway to United Nations.

The student representatives presented a MUN based on the issue of ‘Child Abuse’ in which they represented the countries India, Argentina, Bangladesh and Africa. Mr. Nikunj appreciated the students for identifying and grasping the issue very well and for the conviction with which they spoke.

In his brilliant endeavour to explain what a MUN is, he played a game, International Politics’ with the children. He further told the children how all the member nations meet in the General Assembly of the United Nations which is called ‘Caucus’ and how they pass resolution after reaching consensus.

At the end, he motivated the students o participate in MUN as it would put them on a track that would take them to their desired destination, ’United Nations’ where they would represent their country and the whole world would listen to them.

Ms. Ananya is student of Master in English at the University of Lucknow ,has been successfully running an organisation called The Diplomatic Conclave, which works for the over all development of students in all spheres & strata of society for over a year. She attended over 85 Model United Nation Conferences……..she guided the students how to participate in MUN and become future world leaders.


Investiture Ceremony (Junior Section)

The Junior Wing investiture Ceremony was held on Monday, 16th April 2018. The ceremony began with the school prayer songs, followed by pledge.

The band students marched rhythmically through the aisle leading the majestic and grand procession of the newly selected student representatives and the office bearers. They lined up on the stage like trained soldiers with their head high and a solemn look on their countenance. Students were enthralled to witness the scintillating ‘Pinning the badges ceremony’ regulated by the Principal and the Incharge.

The badge symbolizes the special and power and authority of the office bearers. They took an oath that they would discharge the duties and responsibilities invested on them most piously. The ceremony was graced with the inspiring presence of the most respected Principal from the very beginning to the end.

Soon after, the Principal, Dr. (Mrs.) Vineeta Kamran addressed the students and apprised them the disciplinary code and conduct that would be fit and ideal for CMS students. She also touched upon all the measures pertaining to the healthy school environment. She also appreciated Mrs. Neelam Pandey, the In-charge and her team for their positive efforts and initiatives in maintaining a dignified decorum in the section.Soon after, the Principal, Dr. (Mrs.) Vineeta Kamran addressed the students and apprised them the disciplinary code and conduct that would be fit and ideal for CMS students. She also touched upon all the measures pertaining to the healthy school environment. She also appreciated Mrs. Neelam Pandey, the In-charge and her team for their positive efforts and initiatives in maintaining a dignified decorum in the section.

The ceremony ended with a vote of thanks by Mrs. Neelam Pandey, the In-charge followed by the National Anthem sung by all the students of the section.


Dignity of labour (Primary Section) (10th April, 2018)


We all want our children to grow into a successful, confident and happy individuals. We want them to have the best of everything. Teaching them good values and fostering gratitude in them for what they have is very important. As educators it is our responsibility to educate them about the dignity of labour. Dignity of labour instills uprightness and prepares them to face the world with courage and survive in hostile conditions with positivity and optimism.

The students of Primary Section in Kanpur Road Campus are practicing this task at such a tender age by devoting at least 15 minutes daily in keeping their classrooms and surroundings clean with pride and cheerfulness.


Food Craft Activity (09th April, 2018)

The little fingers of tiny tots showed their skills in creating mesmerising rainbows using cotton and coloured macaroni. Their happiness knew no bounds when they saw their work displayed on boards.


Hobby Class Activities (09th April, 2018)

Hobbies play a vital role in developing one’s personality. A young person needs all round development of his personality. A hobby keeps him active, busy and cheerful. It helps one learn new skills or hone a skill one already has. It increases self confidence and boosts one’s self esteem.

CMS Kanpur Road Branch has introduced Hobby Classes on 1st and 3rd Saturdays of every month. There are 12 Hobby Clubs namely :

  5. Dance Club
  6. Yoga/Aerobics Club
  7. Fine Arts
  8. Multimedia and programming

A Child chooses any club of his/her choice. At Kanpur Road branch, all children have actively participated in the club activities conducted on Monday, 9th April 2018. The initiative, our children are showing, justifies the goal behind this programme.


Envelope Making And Sprouts Salad Making (09th April, 2018)

To mark the occasion of Earth Day Celebration students of class V prepared envelopes and paper bags made out of handmade paper. They used thick paper in order to get sturdy envelopes. Other materials used by them were paint, glitter, feathers, colouring pens, mirrors, etc. Through this activity they spread the message to stop using plastic bags and instead of them use biodegradable paper bags. These paper gift bags are an excellent alternative to plastic bags or wrapping papers. They not only save money but are also reusable and environment friendly.

Girls of class V prepared delectable and mouth-watering salads using sprouts as the main ingredient. They also used carrots, raddish, beetroots, tomatoes, cucumbers, grapes, apples, bananas, etc. to add taste, nourishment and colour to their preparations.


Collage Making Activity (WHO) (09th April, 2018)

World Health Organization is a specialized agency of the United Nations that is concerned with International Public Health. It was established on 7th April, 1948. To mark the occasion of World Health Day students of class III prepared collages in groups on “World Health Organization”. It was a great learning experience for them.

Satsang Assembly (01st April, 2018)

The students of Primary Section, Kanpur Road Campus attended the Satsang organised by Dr. (Mrs.) Bharti Gandhi at Gomti Nagar Campus I. Their parents also participated in the Satsang and expressed their gratitude for enriching the lives of their children through such solemn initiative.

“Jai Jagat, Jai Jagat pukare ja” was greatly appreciated by the Founder Director. She urged the students to spread the message of peace in the world through Jai Jagat and free the world of nuclear weapons... for a safe and progressive world.
