Co-curricular Pursuits

The winners and the organizers of the inter-house Moot Court competition were honoured by CLAT Possible at Hotel Hyatt Regency by Mrs Surabhi Modi, MD, CLAT Possible and other faculty members. The school was presented with a trophy and an appreciation certificate for being the first school in Lucknow and second in India to organize this prestigious event.

Shreya Umrao of Class XII bagged the second prize in poetry writing competition, whereas Geetansh Malik of Class XI along with Ananya Bajpai of Class XII won the second prize in report writing at ‘Entente’ event of La Martiniere’s Girls College. Ehsaan Chhabra and Prakhar Seth showcased their skills in robotics under the Race-O-Bots at this event and stood second.

Three students of the campus, Ritika Srivastava, D. Shriram and Shrestha Singh of Class X were invited as young Jury members to judge a whole gamut of feature films, short films, feature animations, animation short and documentaries at the International Children's Film Festival, ICFF 2018 organized by CMS. Jyotiraditya Pandey and Arnav Mishra of Class IX were awarded the gold medal by the Humming Bird Education (P) Ltd. for securing sixth position at National level Hindi Olympiad. Tanya Chaudhary also won a gold medal in this olympiad. Attisha Saxena of Class IX rocked the silver screen during a dance competition organized by singer Anurag Shah and JPS Talent Hub at Sangeet Natya Academy. In this State level competition Attisha won the first prize in senior category and was awarded a certificate, a trophy and a cash prize of Rs. 5000/-. Aryavardhan Singh Rathour, a rising star of Class X won the third prize at State level competition organized by Competition Promotion Society (CPS). Nilotpal Shukla of Class VIII secured the first rank, Abhisoumya Kapoor of Class VIII secured 6th rank, Anvesh Singh of Class VIII secured 8th rank and Aryan Yadav of Class VII secured 10th rank in inter-school Wiz National Spell Bee competition 2017-18. At the District level ABACUS competition Brain O'Brain Fest 2018, the achievers were: Akshita Singh (IV), Anya Singh (IV), Ananya Chaudhary (IV) - gold toppers; Shubh Pandey (IV) - Silver Topper; Sakshi Vidhin (II), Vatsala Srivastava (II), Kartikeya Srivastava (III), Rishit Verma (III), Raghav Bajpai (III), Naimish Katiyar (IV), Ojas Gaur (IV), Anirudh Kumar (IV), Shubiksha Srivastava (V), Vedant Agarwal (V), Sahiba Bano (V), and Parijat Bramhabhatt (V) - Champions. Aryan Pratap Singh and Aryaman Pratap Singh of Class IV excelled in Spell Bee competitions at various levels; Aryan Pratap Singh participated in inter-school level competitions of Spell Bee and secured 3rd position. He was also awarded cash prize of Rs 500. At State level competition of Spell Bee he secured 4th position with cash prize of Rs 500 and in Mega Finale of Spell Bee competition held at Kolkata he secured the 15th position in 2nd category. Aryaman Pratap Singh participated in Inter School Level competition of Spell Bee competition and secured the 4th rank with cash prize of Rs 250.

Abhijay Mishra of Class IV participated in UCMAS Mental Arithmetic competition at various levels organized by Abacus Learning Pvt. Ltd. Lucknow. He participated in the State level Abacus Mental Arithmetic competition and was awarded the trophy for merit. Besides, at National level Abacus Mental Arithmetic competition held at Ahmedabad, he was awarded a trophy for participation.

Tanishq Bansal of Class VII was awarded with a trophy and Certificate of Excellence by Vinayak Gramodhyog Sansthan for participating and winning Best Child Artist award and brand ambassador selection held from 7 to 9 January at Kaiserbagh Bus Station, Lucknow in association with “Kumbh special bus sewa”. She has been selected as a Brand Ambassador of 4 NGO’s namely, Maa Bhuyian Devi Sewa Sansthan, Live for others, Vinayak Gramodhyog Sansthan and Bharat Srajan.

Students of the campus won the third prize in Saevus Competition held in Amity College. Shruti Yadav of Class VII won the first prize in Turn Coat and Suhani Sehgal of same class won the second prize in Group Discussion at 5th inter-campus Literary Fest organized by CMS QAID. Aaditya Agnihotri (VII) won the gold medal in Brain O'Brain contest. Rishu Singh (VII) won the silver medal while Hiya Anand, Shivansh Ojha, Dhairya Pratap, D. Satyaraj, Deepanjali and Aryan Singh were awarded merit certificates. Khwaish Bhatia of Class III won gold medal in Brain O'Brain Wonderkid competition in mental maths. Team comprising Adyavika, Prashti, Adeeti and Saumya won the third prize in Dream Merchants contest at Eureka International 2018 organized by CMS Anand Nagar Campus. Devansh and Udbhav won the first prize in movie making contest. A total of two second prizes and three consolation prizes were won at Cofas International 2018 organzied by CMS Rajendra Nagar Campus III. Akash Yadav won the second prize in computer wizard and Prakhar Agarwal won the second prize in Mathelets category.

Kunal Agarwal of Class VI secured the first position in inter-campus Talent Search Examination organized by CMS QAID. Dhaman Trivedi of Class XII won the High Recommendation Certificate at MUN competition organized by G.D. Goenka School. Aaditya Agnihotri of Class VIII won the third prize in inter-campus Elementary Mathematics Olympiad. Yashaswini of Class VII was selected for Deen Dayal Sparsh Scholarship Yojna of U.P. Circle.

An Astronomy workshop for promotion of space science was organized by Labrynthe at the campus on 3 May 2018. This organisation aims at conducting educational programmes to create a scientifically aware society by empowering the young minds.

The JYEP programme being run at the campus is an international programme that is used for channelizing the remarkable energy and resources of junior youth for positive social action. The Animators and volunteers have already shown an act of service by giving their time for primary teaching; they do lot of discussion based on different concepts and analyze different situations with its consequences in the junior youth group by both Animator and Junior youth. They have taken up different service projects like Anti-bulling campaign, say no to backbiting, Anti-cheating campaign with a pledge and its bad consequences on students, women empowerment, save environment by planting more trees, Good and bad impacts of social media on us etc. They have taken up these topics in the form of discussion, presentation and as well as in the form of Nukkad Natak.

A 40-member delegation of the campus represented India at the International Convention on Students’ Quality Control Circles (ICSQCC), held in Dhaka, Bangladesh from 3 to 5 May 2018. The team comprised CMS Founder Dr Jagdish Gandhi; Head, CMS QAID, Mrs Susmita Basu; Principal, Dr Vineeta Kamran; teachers, Mrs Shakuntala Singh, Mrs Archana Behari, Mr Anil Kumar Dhami, Mrs Sumita Bhadoria, Mr Sijochan K Antony, Mr Rajesh Adagle, Mr Vaibhav Srivastava, and students Khushi Khattar, Jahnavi Yadav, Ishan Rai, Gursimren Singh, Ari Daman Singh, Shreyash Sharma, Pragya Rani, Harshit Mishra, Shubham Gupta, Jyotiraditya Pandey, Gaurav Gautam, Sumit Kalyani, Kushagra Satyam, Daksh Rawal, Anurag Singh, Niteesh Rawal, Bishodeep Sardar, Shashwat Patel, Yashasvi Patel, Shiva Patel, Rimi Patel, Ananya Patel, Shefali Maurya, Avidansh Gautam and Nishkarsh Gupta.

An 8-member delegation of the campus comprising teacher, Arfia Siddiqui and students, Aryan Singh, Divyajyot Shukla, Ayush Singh, Ajita Shukla, Yash Verma, Sarthak Guatam and Nitesh Rawal went to USA on a trip to NASA from 10 to 23 June, and to participate in the International Day of Yoga celebrations at the UN Headquarters, New York.

A 5-member team of the campus led by teacher Mrs Ratna Pandey with students, Anvesha Raj, Vishu Baudh, Piyush Roy and Kushal Gautam participated in the month-long CISV camp held in Rome, Italy from 29 June to 26 July 2018. Another team comprising teachers, Ms Rita, Mr Shirish Vashisht and students, Harsh Tiwari, Karandeep Singh, Akshansh Singh and Vaibhav Singh Chauhan participated in Bulgaria International Mathematics Competition (BIMC) 2018 at Burgas, Bulgaria from 1 to 6 July 2018. A 35-member delegation of the campus participated in the National Convention on Students' Quality Convention, NCQSCC held at Gurugram from 22 to 24 November 2018.

Annual function of the campus was organized on 16 November 2018. On this occasion, the students presented a heartwarming educational-cultural programme in the honour of the Chief Justices, judges and legal luminaries from several countries of the world participating in the 19th International Conference of Chief Justices of the World organized by CMS. The 2-day CISV Mini Camp concluded with National Presentation-cum-Annual Mothers Day function wherein the students presented a wide array of educational cultural items enthralling the audience. The other important events organized at the campus included ASISC National Cricket Tournament, ASISC Regional Badminton Tournament, National ASISC Literary event and the Kids Carnival.

Teacher, Mrs Archana Gaur participated in NYU Abu Dhabi Event for Educators held at Abu Dhabi from 15 to 18 February 2018. She also participated in UCD High School Conference held at Dublin, Ireland from 18 to 21 February 2018.
