Vidya Ka Parv of Primary

Schools play an essential role in shaping the future of the students. The school is a wonderful place where a student feels, understands and experiences best-ever memories and life lessons, with this spirit City Montessori School Aliganj Campus 2 started face-to-face classes for the Primary wing on 1st September 2021. All the necessary norms and COVID protocols were strictly followed by the school, parents and students. The head of the institution, Respected Ms. Samvida Adhikari and Incharges welcomed the students with open arms and joyful hearts along with the staff with a traditional Aarti Thaal and blessed each one of them to be safe and secure.

A warm welcome was given to the students by their respective teachers with a smiley in their hands. A special assembly was conducted starting with school prayer followed by the Pledge, thought of the day and an energizer. Children were also introduced to their daily schedules and more information about COVID-19 was shared related to safety regulation by the class teachers. Teachers also discussed the language of virtues from the book “Spiritual Education of Students”.

Activities promoting love for learning and building self-confidence were taken up in the classes in the form of art and crafts like students of Classes 1 and 2 enjoyed drawing and colouring beautiful butterflies and smileys whereas the students of Classes III-V expressed their feelings and excitement by writing and speaking about how they felt being back to school. It was an amazing writing exercise where students wrote their hearts out about their school and what they missed about not being in face-to-face classes. Teachers took up several icebreakers and tongue twister activities to energise the children. An alphabet game was played in which students told their name and joined it with a describing word that begins with the first letter of their names. Students spoke a few lines on the flashcards they picked up from the basket of the cards and enjoyed elocution showcasing their oratory skills. Riddles based on addition and division were taken up. They drew clocks and then they told what time they wake up by drawing hour and minutes hand.

The personality of an individual plays an important role and school is the stepping stone in developing one’s personality. Thus, students participated in personality development and soft skills sessions. Various social skills like teamwork, collaboration, decision-making, problem-solving, critical thinking, communication, etc. were touched upon during these sessions. It was a day filled with fun and frolic, where students enjoyed their first day of face-to-face school. Students were overjoyed to prepare their takeaways.

TEACHER’S DAY CELEBRATION

“Teachers encourage minds to think, hands to create and hearts to love.”

Teacher’s Day is celebrated all over India on 5th September every year. Students expressed their gratitude and appreciation for their teachers on this day. This day is dedicated to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, the second President of India. He was a great academic philosopher and one of the most well-known diplomats, scholar and above all a teacher. City Montessori School Aliganj 2 Campus 2 celebrated Teacher's Day both on and off-campus on 3rd and 6th September 2021 with full zeal and enthusiasm to express gratitude to teachers who play a significant role in shaping the future.

Pre-Primary Section: The students were geared up with a lot of vigor and vibrancy. Montessori children were taken up to a virtual trip to school and were enacted up as their favourite teacher. Nursery children tapped their feet on their favourite energizers and enacted as their teacher. Kindergarten children were told about the significance of Teacher's Day and did enactment as their favourite teacher. The virtual celebration was truly entertaining.

Primary Section: Classes 1 and 2 students celebrated Teacher's Day and express their gratitude to teachers who play a significant role in their lives. A documentary on Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was shown to students as the day marks the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, the second President of India. Students enthusiastically spoke a few lines on their favourite teacher. They showered their love by expressing their feelings on this day through short videos, beautiful cards, collages for teachers, and small write-ups filled with gratitude and praises. Students of classes 3-5 were delighted to share their presentations on Teacher’s Day, where they enthusiastically discussed their views on their favourite teachers. The young learners recited poems, displayed their creativity on canvas through beautiful cards. They decorated the classes with balloons, made beautiful cards and bouquet with the help of paper flowers. They danced to the rhythm of the music. The students prepared delicacies for their teachers.

Junior Section: This year the students got the opportunity to celebrate this wonderful occasion, face-to-face and they celebrated it with lots of pomp and show. They beautifully decorated the classroom and warmly welcomed the staff of the campus. The event began seeking the blessings of the Almighty proceeded by the inauguration of the room for the celebration by our Adorable Principal, Ms Samvida Adhikari. Students also celebrated the presence of ex-teachers who were very happy and filled with old memories of the campus. Students showed their gratitude through a beautiful PowerPoint presentation, reciting amazing poetry to praise the efforts of teachers, prepared beautiful lines complementing teachers and sharing their thoughts about their teachers and a fantastic dance performance by the student of class 5 Master Archit Singh. The students prepared a game for the teachers, they interviewed them about their childhood and school life. The teachers thoroughly enjoyed the game and were thrilled to remember their childhood. Some students had also joined online and shown their love and respect for the teachers.

In the end, all the teachers were presented a "Certificates of Appreciation". The teachers profusely thanked and blessed the students for their efforts and the wonderful time they spent together.

The session was full of learning with fun where students enhanced their critical thinking, communication skills through collaborative learning. The day ends up with lots of wishes and big smiles on teachers' and students' faces as they understood that their teacher's teachings will never be erased from their minds strengthening the Guru-Shishya bond.

Janmashtami celebration

“Calmness, gentleness, silence, self-restraint and purity These are the disciplines of the mind.”

Janmashtami is celebrated as the birthday of Lord Krishna, one of the most powerful and famous reincarnations of Lord Vishnu. According to the Hindu calendar, this festival is celebrated on the Ashtami of Krishna Paksha or the 8th day of the dark fortnight in the month of Bhadon. To seek the blessings of Lord Krishna, Janmashtami was celebrated virtually, at City Montessori School Aliganj II Campus with mirth and joy on 28th August 2021 by Pre-Primary and Primary sections.

Pre-Primary Section: This day signifies excitement, euphoria and a joyous spirit of enthrallment. The Virtual celebration was truly entertaining and educating. To celebrate the extraordinary bond between children and the Lord, children came dressed up as Lord Radha and Krishna. They enjoyed watching the story of Lord Krishna and were told the importance of Janmashtami. They also made beautiful khaki in collaboration with their mothers and magical flutes with the help of pencil, ribbon and peacock feathers and mats.

Primary Section: The birthday of Lord Krishna was celebrated with great devotion and enthusiasm by the teachers and students. The little ones were dressed up in the beautiful attire as Lord Krishna and Radha. They also spoke a few lines on the character. Students enjoyed watching the mythological story of Lord Krishna. A quiz based upon Janmashtami was also played in the classes. The festival was celebrated with full zeal and happiness.

The purpose of the flamboyant celebration was to inculcate the value of sharing and respect among the students. The children celebrated the festival of devotion and obedience towards their parents and teachers. The session was full of learning experiences where they enhanced their critical thinking, communication and creative skills through collaborative learning. Teachers wished everyone that may Natkhat Nandlal always make their life colourful with lively pranks that keep them on their toes and instill and evoke child-like traits in them, at all times.

Krishna’s Birthday Party
(Inter-campus Janmashtami Celebration)

“Moving forward to spread happiness and love together.”

City Montessori School Aliganj 2 Campus organized Krishna’s Birthday party on 28th August 2021, on the auspicious occasion of Janmashtami to seek the blessings of Lord Krishna. The event was organized keeping in mind the SDG “Quality Education”: A step towards achieving our vision 2025 where all the CMS Campuses (Gomti Nagar I and II, Rajendra Nagar I and II, Chowk Campus, RDSO, Jopling Road, Anand Nagar, Mahanagar, Rajajipuram, Indira Nagar, Kanpur Road, Aliganj I and II) collaboratively joined the fun-filled Janmashtami celebration with gusto. The teachers along with the students dressed as little Krishna’s and Radha's joined the competition cum party.

The celebration began with the blessings of the Almighty, the School Prayer. Our Respected Principal, Ms. Samvida Adhikari addressed the gathering with heartfelt gratitude especially to the children for being there to share their innocence, curiosity, talent, purity, happiness and love just like Kanha. Pre-Primary Incharge, Ms Preeti Oberoi welcomed and highlighted the concept of working together. She gave her best wishes to all the little contestants for their performance.

The celebration mood was set as all the participants were sitting with a beautiful virtual background and the spirit of festivity was enhanced with the story “Krishna’s Birth” enacted by Kindergarten students of our branch depicting the life history of Lord Krishna and his magical powers. Students showcased their oratory and creative skills which helped in character development and global citizenship. The story was followed by a quiz that increased students' curiosity enhancing their critical thinking.

The special attraction of celebration was the Talent hunt- “Spin the wheel” where all the participants flaunted beautiful dresses of their favourite character from the story and spoke a few lines about the same on their turn.

Our Respected Founder Director, Dr Bharti Gandhi ma’am was the special guest of this grand event. She appreciated the performances of the children and the efforts of the staff.

The fun-filled learning of the Indian tradition infused within the students to respect their culture; they absorbed the significance of different festivals and as a result, imbibed the value system to become a humane citizen. The program was brought to an end by a grand community feast and grooving to the beats of Kanha’s favourite bhajans.
