Krishna’s Birthday Party
(Inter-campus Janmashtami Celebration)
“Moving forward to spread happiness and love together.”
City Montessori School Aliganj 2 Campus organized Krishna’s Birthday party on 28th August 2021, on the auspicious occasion of Janmashtami to seek the blessings of Lord Krishna. The event was organized keeping in mind the SDG “Quality Education”: A step towards achieving our vision 2025 where all the CMS Campuses (Gomti Nagar I and II, Rajendra Nagar I and II, Chowk Campus, RDSO, Jopling Road, Anand Nagar, Mahanagar, Rajajipuram, Indira Nagar, Kanpur Road, Aliganj I and II) collaboratively joined the fun-filled Janmashtami celebration with gusto. The teachers along with the students dressed as little Krishna’s and Radha's joined the competition cum party.
The celebration began with the blessings of the Almighty, the School Prayer. Our Respected Principal, Ms. Samvida Adhikari addressed the gathering with heartfelt gratitude especially to the children for being there to share their innocence, curiosity, talent, purity, happiness and love just like Kanha. Pre-Primary Incharge, Ms Preeti Oberoi welcomed and highlighted the concept of working together. She gave her best wishes to all the little contestants for their performance.
The celebration mood was set as all the participants were sitting with a beautiful virtual background and the spirit of festivity was enhanced with the story “Krishna’s Birth” enacted by Kindergarten students of our branch depicting the life history of Lord Krishna and his magical powers. Students showcased their oratory and creative skills which helped in character development and global citizenship. The story was followed by a quiz that increased students' curiosity enhancing their critical thinking.
The special attraction of celebration was the Talent hunt- “Spin the wheel” where all the participants flaunted beautiful dresses of their favourite character from the story and spoke a few lines about the same on their turn.
Our Respected Founder Director, Dr Bharti Gandhi ma’am was the special guest of this grand event. She appreciated the performances of the children and the efforts of the staff.
The fun-filled learning of the Indian tradition infused within the students to respect their culture; they absorbed the significance of different festivals and as a result, imbibed the value system to become a humane citizen. The program was brought to an end by a grand community feast and grooving to the beats of Kanha’s favourite bhajans.
