Orientation and Motivation Program on Global Dream Project

“The journey of a Lifetime starts with the turning of a Page for yourself and others.”

Global Dream Literacy Campaign: A Family Service Project by Dr. Sunita Gandhi is a social service project in which students will teach at least one person who is not able to read and go to school and be the “Leaders of Change”.

To make students aware of this project Ms. Milita Haldar had a motivational talk and orientation for the students of City Montessori School Aliganj II Campus on Global Dream Project where she introduced herself and told them different methods and 3 basic rules of teaching. She asked students which was the best method of teaching after role-play and upraised them. She made students aware of the factual data of the illiteracy rate in India and motivated students to shape and gift others who are not able to read, a gift of literacy through this project. Students also shared their past and current experiences which they had with their learners. Ms. Rashika Dixit, Junior Incharge also encouraged students to make a lasting impact in the cycle of poverty and illiteracy. She added education is the best defence against poverty and literacy is the foundation for education. Ms. Shagufta Khan, Literacy Coordinator motivated students to be a part of this project as they are the change maker of the society and through this project, they will not only share their knowledge with others but also will touch the lives of others as an archangel.

Respected Principal, Ms. Samvida Adhikari enlightened them by explaining that literacy is one of the greatest gifts a person could receive. So be the part of this project and gift others the gift of literacy which will help in shaping their future.

The session was fruitful as the students understood that literacy unlocks the door to learning throughout life and is essential for development and health as it opens the way for democratic participation and active citizenship. They also understood the importance of SDG’s 1,2,3,4,5,10 and 11 in shaping the world.
