During this two-day event, the participants will engage in the study of the book titled 'Health and Well-being.' The aim is to draw the attention of the Animators towards their crucial role in assisting young people aged 12-15 to develop their expressive abilities and strengthen their understanding of moral and health-related challenges in their daily lives.

It is evident that the youth require support in acquiring a comprehensive language that enables them to comprehend the influential forces shaping social values. Therefore, the primary focus of this Conference is to foster critical thinking among the youth, empowering them to analyse assumptions and discern truth from falsehood. Furthermore, extensive discussions will take place within various groups to explore the significance of service projects initiated by the Junior Youth themselves and the importance of maintaining humility in our approach to service.

The Conference will be accompanied by lively songs and music, adding to the vibrant atmosphere.

If you have yet to register for this event, we encourage you to do so promptly as time is limited. Don't miss out on this valuable opportunity!

Animators’ Conference for the Animators of classes 9 and 11 on October 7 and 8, 2023

We are expecting 500 Animators of classes 9 and 11 to attend the Animators’ Conference on October 7 and 8, 2023 at the World Unity Convention Centre of the Kanpur Road Campus. This conference will be organised by the Department of Character Education and Youth Empowerment.

At the conference, the programme consisted of the study of the book ‘ Health and wellbeing’, learning prayers and quotations and artistic activities. The content of the book resonates with the experience of the animators themselves in facilitating a junior youth group. It reiterates the sublime purpose of the JYEP as that of empowering the junior youth with a two-fold sense of purpose: that of individual and social transformation. It draws attention of the animators to their responsibility of helping young people aged 12-15 to develop their powers of expression and strengthen their capacities to recognize the moral issues underlying individual and collective decisions. As the material unfolded it became clear that the youth need to be assisted in acquiring a language rich enough to enable them to understand the powerful forces that shape social values and therefore the primary focus of this study was to encourage youth to think critically about the world around them, to analyse assumptions, and to distinguish truth from falsehood. Artistic activities, cooperative games, reflection and planning were other elements of the two-day programme. At the concluding session, the students made presentations of their plan for their schools, as well as songs, skits and nukkad-natak highlighting social issues.

Since the conferences, the animators have been focusing on fulfilling the plans that they made with renewed vigour and enthusiasm with the help of the junior youth in their own campuses. Service to the common good continues to be the dominating passion of their lives. The principals and management of the campuses have lent all support to the animators in fulfilment of their service in the school.

At this conference, like the one in July, participants will study the book, 'Health and Wellbeing,' together in small groups. The groups will be facilitated by the Co-ordinators and their assistants. The participants will also be taught to chant new prayers and quotations and also to participate in artistic activities and in arts and crafts. The book's content is very interesting as it deals with health issues that often affect adventurous young people. In addition to study sessions, the programme will include artistic activities, cooperative games, music, reflection and planning. The programmes will be interactive and the participants will have a great time together.

New service programmes will be one of the important themes of this conference.
