CMS Gomti Nagar Extension awarded with "Wipro Earthian Paryavaran Mitra Award."
As a part of CEE’s Paryavaran Mitra initiative on climate change and sustainability Education, CEE had partnered with Wipro foundation for implementing Earthian Program' in schools since July 2013. Earthian and Paryavaran Mitra initiatives promote activity-based learning which encourages schools to work on three key sustainability themes -water, biodiversity, and waste.
Ms Shalini Shrivastava Environment coordinator of GN Extension along with the five junior section students prepared a report on Biodiversity covering all the areas of activity-based learning and teaching techniques. An award ceremony was organized by CEE on 23 July at the institute of wildlife Sciences, University of Lucknow, ONGC building.
Tree Plantation Drive
Trees provide us with many benefits necessary for survival. They also give us hope and insight and courage to preserve even in the harshest conditions. They teaches us to stay rooted while soaring great heights. On 6 July a plantation drive was conducted by the students of CMS Gomti Nagar Campus II. In this environment friendly activity total hindered saplings were planted by students of pre-primary, primary, junior and senior section has participated.
Ms. Shubhi Sachan, Environmentalist and Material Researcher assisted students with the Japanese ‘Miyawaki’ technique of plantation which enables the regional trees to flourish naturally faster. This noble event was conducted under the able guidance of Mr. Roshan Gandhi Director strategy, Ms. Manjeet Batra Senior Principal CMS Gomti Nagar Campus II and Ms. Sangeeta Banerjee Principal CMS Gomti Nagar Campus II. WE look forward to the inquisitive participation of students and cheerful cooperation from the gardening staff to enhance greenery around our campus.
