Co-curricular Pursuits

The campus buzzed with activities throughout the session. The students have been excelling in music, dance, debates, painting and art contests. The morning assemblies were effectively carried out to impart moral values to the children. Physical education was also imparted during this time. The Model classes were also conducted with great enthusiasm in which students showcase their talents.

CMS RDSO has been nominated for the Best School Award category of the National level ‘Paryavaran Mitra Puraskar 2014’. Being the state level awardee of the best school award, CMS RDSO Campus is amongst the 12 schools shortlisted for this prestigious national level honour jointly given by the Centre for Environment Education (CCE); Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change, Govt. of India with a view to sensitize the students and young generation. The Campus was felicitated at a special function held in Ahmedabad on 14 October.

The New Parents Evening of the campus is organised every year with great pomp and show where parents witness the blossoming talents of their wards. It also gives them an opportunity to understand ‘education in 21st century’, thus enlightening the parents about the CMS philosophy and the diverse and manifold achievements of the students.

This year RDSO campus organized a seven-day India International Mathematics Competition “InIMC from 25th to 31th October 2017 at CMS Kanpur Road auditorium. Mr. Sun, Wen Hsien was the Chairman of the event. The President of Maths Guild, Philippines, Dr. Simon L. Chua specially flew down to India to conduct the contests and at the same time guide the students of India and abroad. It was again a very successful event and received wide media coverage. About 30 countries with overall 1000 participants participated enthusiastically and bagged prizes. The competition was held at two stages – Key stage II(Upper Primary Level) and Key stage III(Lower Secondary Level).5 students of our campus won gold and bronze medals.

Mother’s and Grand Parents Day was organized on 19th November, 2017 at WUCC. Mothers and grandparents of the children enthusiastically participated in the event. Mothers and grandparents got the insight into CMS Philosophy ‘Vasudhaiv Kutumbakam’.

Activities like Hoop Race and One leg Race ‘RakshaParva’, Fancy Dress Competition, English Elocution, Green Day etc. was organised for the students of the Pre-Primary Section. The students of the Primary Section took up activities like quiz competition, skits, essay writing elocution, drawing competition etc. These activities helped the students in their all-round development. Activity like inter-house flower arrangement competition was organised for class V to enforce the creativity of the students. The students of the Junior section participated in activities like Project Save Earth, Ground Water Week, Poster making Competition, Essay Writing, English Elocution, Reading Competition, Collage Competition and Declamation. The Senior Students remained involved in Essay writing, Debates, etc. to prepare themselves for the external examination.
