9th IYMC Mathematica 2022


City Montessori School Gomti Nagar Campus I, had organized a six day long International Young Mathematicians’ Convention entitled 9th IYMC Mathematica 2022, from the 10th-15th October, 2022. Although the event was organized on the Online-Platform-Zoom but there was an overwhelming participation, with teams from 23 countries of the world, 400+ participants competing with one another in 5 innovative and engaging Competitions. Mrs. Abha Anant the Convener of the 9th IYMC Mathematica and the Principal of CMS Gomti Nagar Campus I opined that the 9th IYMC Mathematica 2022, had been conceived to provide a platform to allow bright, creative people from all over the world to interact. The Convention sought to promote “Unison Through Numbers”. Day 1 that is 10th October, 2022 was the Inaugural Ceremony where a scintillating cultural Program was presented on Zoom in honor of the Delegates who had joined from 23 countries of the World. The Meet was declared open by the Chief Guest Mr. S. Rajalingam, District Magistrate Kushinagar. On Day 2 and day 3 there were Competitions like Math Wiz (Individual Contest) and Mathmania (Team Contest). These Competitions were organized in Collaboration with the 8-member Central Academic Committee headed by Prof. Wen Hsien Sun- President, Chiu Chang Mathematics Education Foundation, Taiwan. Some of the other exciting Competitions that were organized during the next two days were Numeric Jazz (Math Jingle) for the Junior Level, Mathematical R & D (Research Paper Presentation) for the Senior Level and Mathematical Quintuple (Speech with a Difference) again for the senior level. An esteemed panel of 9 judges judged the various Competitions.

The Accolades- Closing Ceremony was organized on the sixth day that is 15th October, 2022. Delegates had joined in huge number on Zoom in order to know the result. In the Senior Category the Overall Championship was won by Matthayom Watnairong School Thailand while Klinik Pendidikan MIPA (KPM), Indonesia won the First Runners Up and City Montessori School, Gomti Nagar Campus I, were declared as the Second Runners Up. Where as in the Junior Category, 11th School of Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia was declared as the Champion, Taiwan Team A being judged as the First runners Up and three schools namely Budhanilkantha School Nepal, Colegiul National “Costache Negruzzi” Lasi and Taiwan Team A were declared as the Second Runners Up.

NBRI TRIP - Close Endeavours with Nature


Expedition to the National Botanical Research Institute Lucknow, an educational tour by the students of class 11th, provided them with a vision enriched with the vastness of nature and its green occupants. They were primarily shown the Exposition Museum encompassing the history, variety and technological uses of plants like NBIRA-Herbal Fermented Drink based on the traditional style of Indian and modern beverages (fruit is used as a base in this) by a renewed researcher at the institute.

WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY


The young learners celebrated World Mental Health Day. They were shown a meaningful video on the occasion and then a healthy discussion took place during the Online class. The children shared their views and gave ideas how to keep their mind and body peaceful.


AIR FORCE DAY


The Students celebrated AIR FORCE DAY with patriotic fervor. The Students wrote beautiful quotations and slogans under their paintings to show their respect for the Indian Air Force officers who toil hard to protect the integrity of our motherland.


GANDHI JAYANTI


Also know as International day of non-violence. To revere this day, the Students held a Special Assembly to commemorate the Mahatma’s life and teachings. They sung Gandhi’s favourite bhajan ‘Raghu Pati Raghav’ with full exuberance. The learners took Swachhta Pledge, and promised to work for cleanliness. All our Students were imbued with Gandhian values and thoughts and vowed to become better citizens of India and this World.

DUSSHERA CELEBRATION


The festival of Dussehra was celebrated by our students. Children came dressed in ethnic clothes as Ram, Sita, Lakshman, Hanuman Ravan. During special Assembly they enjoyed watching role-play from The Ramayana. The children were audience to the burning effigy of Ravana which is symbolic of the above. The students as well as the teachers performed Dandiya and Garba to folk songs. Teachers also shared information about the CRACKERS FREE DUSSEHRA.

LABRYNTHE ASTRONOMY CLUB


A session was conducted for the Pre-Primary students on the topic: Friends Forever.

In this the students learnt about the sun, moon and earth and how they move in space, through a multimedia session. The students also learnt about the different motions of heavenly bodies: rotation, revolution and a combination of both.

UTTHAN: A Vision for a healthy society


Primary students contributed wholeheartedly made it possible for CMS vision for a healthy society to soar high. Through our small contributions and tenaciously following SGD - 1, 2, 3, 4 and 17 we plan to bring immense happiness, strength, good health and well-being in as many lives and families we can touch upon.

Trip To Chandigarh - Dharamshala and Chandigarh – Amritsar - Wagah Border


Junior and Senior Sections’ trip to Chandigarh-Dharamshala and Chandigarh- Amritsar- Wagah Border was a fun filled and enriching one.

The students along with their teachers went to experience the mesmerizing beauty that the places had to offer. They visited Sukhna Lake, The Bhakra-Nangal Dam, the second tallest dam in Asia, Anandpur Sahib, Bhagsu Nag Temple, a trek to waterfall, the Dalai Lama Monastery, War Memorial, and the Cricket Stadium. The Seniors visited Jallianwala Bagh, witnessed the Beating Retreat Ceremony at the Attari Border, the Golden Temple, shopping at the Sector -17 market, Chandigarh, the Garba Dance at Sukhna Lake.

Travel to these places made the students all wise with the information that each place provided regarding the history and geography, the values and the customs.
