Rakshabandhan Celebration

The bond of love and devotion is best exemplified of siblings. They share same family and to a great extent their lives. Brothers and sisters are emotionally the closest.

India is a land where we celebrate every intricate aspect of life. Therefore we don’t fall short of celebrating the bond between a brother and a sister and proudly call it Raksha bandhan.

To give a feel of this very sincere and pure bond we in the Pre Primary section of City Montessori School, Gomti Nagar Campus I celebrated with great enthusiasm Raksha bandhan on August 14th 2019.

The children came dressed in Indian Ethnic wear, and were all looking bright and colourful. The girls brought rakhi and some sweets to share with their classmates. A special assembly was organized for the day, where the teachers explained what are we celebrating and why. As always the music teachers breathed life to the celebration by singing songs like “Bhaiya mere rakhi ke bandhan ko nibhana, phoolon ka taron ka sabka kehna hai”. Some girls tied rakhi on the some boy’s wrists and also did tilak to give a visual of the festival to the toddlers.

Eid Celebration

August 9th, 2019 marked the day of celebrating Eid-Ul-Adha in the Pre Primary section of CMS Gomti Nagar Campus I. The boys came dressed up in white kurta pajama and the girls wore salwar kameez.

A board depicting the importance of the day and festival was put up in the lobby. A special assembly was organized where the children were told how do we celebrate this festival and what is the importance behind it. They were also shown a multimedia on ‘Eid-ul-Adha’.

The children were told about the prayers in the mosque, the delicacies that are cooked and the gifts that are shared.

The children were awestruck and listened carefully. The qawwali ‘Apne maa baap ka tu dil na dukha’ presented by the kindergarten children. We at CMS never fail to take the legacy of love and brotherhood forward and this little celebration was a testimony of our efforts.

Grandparent’s week

As we are celebrating 2019-2020 as the "Year of Compassion" CMS Gomti Nagar Campus I included an element of "The Week of Grandparents" as a tribute to celebrate the birthday of our "BARI DIDI" Dr Bharti Gandhi, Founder Director of our prestigious institutions. Class 1 & 2 Students and Teachers invited and warmly welcomed our ever young, ever enthusiastic and loving Grandparents for the Story Telling Session in our Indian traditional spirit of "Athithi Devo Bhava" with Haldi and Rice. They were also adorned with badges. Our learned grandparents narrated wonderfully drafted stories to our little ones with a moral message for the future generation. They showered their unconditional love and blessings on all the children. Students were extremely delighted and thankful to them for this awesome experience. On behalf of all the students and CMS family a Thank You card was presented to our loving and caring Grandparents with a small Momento as a token of our love and respect towards them.

Grandmothers Day and Founder’s Day was celebrated with great fervor and excitement in the Pre Primary section of CMS Gomti Nagar Campus I on August 8th 2019. Children burst with excitement and sang the Happy Birthday Song and other songs like “Baar baar din ye aye” and “Tum jeeyo hazaaron saal”.

Grandmothers Bhajan Prabhat was organized on this day where in grandmothers from various sections came and sang few bhajans like Raghupatiraghav raja ram, Achychutamkeshvam. Our students also learnt these bhajans and sang with them. We believe that grandmothers are the foundation of the family, just like Dr Bharti Gandhi, who stands as the rock solid pillar to the CMS family.

As a mark of gratitude grandparents were given books written by our founder Manager Dr Jagdish Gandhi along with a small token of love. We wish her a Very our loving Badi Didi a Happy Birthday and hope for her good health and wellbeing. May she be our guiding force till eternity.

Friendship day

The purest of all feelings where there is no compulsion, just pure feelings is friendship. A true friend is indeed a blessing. To give this message to our toddlers we celebrated Friendship day on August 5, 2019, in Pre Primary section of City Montessori School Gomti Nagar Campus I.

A special assembly was organized to mark the day and celebrate friendship. The teachers talked about friendship and told the children that one should cherish this bond. In the classrooms, the children made friendship bands and tied them to their friends’ wrists.

The take home message was seamlessly understood by the children. Many children shared this with their parents who appreciated the institution’s role in sensitizing children in every small and big celebration.

Science Experiment Day

Instilling scientific knowledge and logical acumen in the children should start at the earliest possible age. It will help children question and understand various processes around them and their environment in an intelligent fashion.

Keeping this thought in mind, we the Pre Primary section of City Montessori School, Gomtinagar 1 observed and celebrated “Science Experiment Day” On 1st August, 2019.

This day kicked off with a usual dedicated board on the said theme, put up in the lobby. Later it unfolded by setting up various experiments in the lobby to sensitize the children with real world scientific information. To name a few the following experiments were performed in front of the children, which made the children awestruck and spellbound.

  1. Magical colours.

  2. Bubble the bubbles.

  3. Fun with magner.

  4. Air pressure - Fun with balloon.

  5. Safe solar observation.

  6. Magic of air.

  7. Filtration.

All the experiments were very eye-catching and made an indelible mark on the tiny brains of the students, which was precisely what we wanted and strived towards.
