It is a matter of immense pleasure for us that CMS Indira Nagar Campus is organizing the InternationalCONFLUENCE: The 19" World Unity and World Peace Festival from 30th August to 2nd September, 2023. The theme of this year's Confluence has been aptly kept as Unity of Hearts which is the urgent need in today's times. The aim behind organizing this event is to develop in children, an understanding for the spirit of universal love and brotherhood of mankind.

This international event will also encourage the youth of today to work towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Each competition in this four day event has been designed to incorporate the various SDGs including Good Health & Well-being Quality Education, Gender Equality, Clean Water and Sanitation, Affordable and Clean Energy Reduced inequalities, Sustainable Cities and communities and Climate action to sensitise children- towards these issues of utmost importance. Competitions like drama, debate, choreography photography, paper presentation, poster making group singing, and community service project etc will spread awareness about various Sustainable Development Goals.

We wish you, your staff and students CMS Indira Nagar all the very best for the success of this event - CONFLUENCE - 2023 in nurturing our students as world citizens and world leaders who will work towards bringing about peace and unity which are the most embryonic need of the modern society in order to protect our habitat EARTH.

Change happens when we work together — across borders and backgrounds — for the shared cause of a fair, just future for people and planet. Time and again we have seen that progress is possible when we act as an international community. When governments, businesses, and citizens work together and put resources and determination behind a goal, change happens.

In these dreams and goals, we are setting out a supremely ambitious and transformational vision. We envisage a world sans fear and violence, a world free of poverty, hunger and disease where life can thrive. In this world human habitats are safe and are capable of enjoying affordable, reliable and sustainable energy. A just, equitable, tolerant, open and socially inclusive world in which humanity lives in harmony with nature and in which wildlife and other living species are protected. Exceptional educational experience promote positive changes in behavior and general awareness of ecological issues that promote Sustainable Global Goals. We at City Montessori School believe that creating our own personal sustainability goals and sharing them with family and friends is the first step in encouraging others to be sustainable.

As an initiative towards accelerating the process of achieving the 17 Sustainable Development Goals modelled by the United Nations, City Montessori School, Indira Nagar Campus has taken a leap of faith in organizing Confluence 2023 with the theme, 'Unity of Hearts’. This magnificent extravaganza would witness the students participating in a range of events such as ‘Poster Making’, ‘Collage Making’ ‘Choreography’, ‘English Choir’, ‘Ad Campaign’, ‘Drama’ to promote awareness about various SDGs which will surely prove to be reformative in more ways than one can imagine.

Allow me to borrow the words of Vince Lombardi as he said, “Individual commitment to a group effort—that is what makes a team work, a company work, a society work, a civilization work.” It gives me immense pride in acknowledging the zealous efforts put up by the sincere staff of City Montessori School, Indira Nagar Campus under the commendable leadership of its Principal Ms Ruchi Bhuvan Joshi. The members have left us all inspired with their diligence and detailed approach towards work. Let me thank each one of you for spreading congeniality in the community through our learners by sensitizing them about global goals.

We shall forever remain indebted to our Founder Manager, Dr Jagdish Gandhi and Founder Director, Dr Bharti Gandhi for creating such an inspiring and healthy environment where we can dream and achieve them with integrity. I would also like to extend special thanks to our President and Managing Director, Dr Geeta Gandhi Kingdon for the extraordinary measures taken by her to equip our staff and students alike to face the challenges of a new world with aplomb and ease. I would now rest my thoughts with a gentle reminder for all of us that, ‘Great things are rarely achieved by just one person. Usually, they are accomplished by a group of people, and when everyone is committed to the overall goal, teams move faster; are more innovative and more successful. Successful teamwork is essential for anyone attempting to complete projects successfully.

So powerful is the light of Unity that it can illuminate the whole earth. Baha'u'llah Team Confluence extends a very warm invitation to you and your school to participate in the 19th Chapter of Confluence - The World Unity & Peace Festival, organized by City Montessori School, which was established in 1959 with merely 5 students. Since its inception efforts are being made to promote World Peace and World Unity.

Dwight D. Eisenhower said that exchange of students should be usually expanded. Information and education are powerful forces in support of peace. Just as war begins in the minds of men so does peace.

We believe in what Sri Amit Ray said, “Education is unfolding the wings of head and heart together. The job of the teacher is to push the students out of their nest to strengthen their wings." Here at CMS, Indira Nagar opportunities have been created for the students to interact, discuss, consult and work with other students in order to grow in a collaborative way and enrich society.

There are different competitions where the students can participate. Max de Pree said, “We need to give each other the space to grow, to be ourselves, to exercise our diversity so that we may both give and receive such beautiful things as ideas, openness, dignity, joy, healing and inclusion. School being the lighthouse of the society is here offering all these opportunities.

In today's world of war and fear we need to remind our students that they are never alone. We are eternally connected with everyone. To achieve higher purpose, the divine fires that are within us are to be ignited and Education alone has that capacity.

Friends, let us come together to let our students participate in this Festival, Confluence where all meet to understand diversity and live peacefully. Let the Hearts unite.

Allow your students to debate, to dance, to act, to paint, to work together, to create games and to have fun and all the while keeping in mind the higher purposes of Peace, of Unity and of Love. We wait for the entries of your school.
