Sports instil humane qualities in children

Lucknow, 18 August: The 2-day International Sports Festival 'Spardha International 2021' organized by City Montessori School, RDSO Campus came to a grand conclusion today with a prize distribution cum closing ceremony held online. The young sportspersons and winners of various competitions from Bahrain, Bangladesh, Bulgaria, Oman, Thailand, Vietnam and various Indian states were virtually felicitated on this occasion. Chief Guest of the closing ceremony, Mr R P Singh Senior, former Indian Fast Bowler, motivated the young sports enthusiasts saying that school-level sports competitions prove to be very helpful in making children good human beings as sports help in personality development and inculcate positive virtues. The Guest of Honour, Mr Somdeaw Ket-In, Education Supervisor, Thailand, said that physical development is very important for the intellectual development of the students and it is possible only through sports. Earlier, the closing ceremony began with the School Prayer followed by All Religions Prayer and World Unity Prayer presented by the CMS students. The educational-cultural programme depicting unity in diversity was well appreciated by the audience. It is worth mentioning here that entries for various competitions were received from the participants from India and abroad and the best entries were awarded at the online closing ceremony.

At the closing ceremony, the winners of various competitions of Spardha International-2021 were awarded. In Key Stage-I for the participants of 4 to 7 years, the first prize of Cut Capers (Zumba) competition went to Vaibhavi Singh of CMS Gomti Nagar Campus-I while Aarya Singh of CMS Rajendra Nagar Campus-I won the first prize in Yoga competition. In Key Stage-II for the participants of 7 to 11 years, the first prize of Skipping competition for boys went to Aniket Singh of CMS Gomti Nagar Campus-I while Anchal Tiwari of Mount Carmel College, Mahanagar won the first prize in girls category. Shivi Sagar of CMS Gomti Nagar Campus II won the first prize of skating competition while Tani and Aarav Chaddha of St. Mark’s Senior Secondary Public School, New Delhi won the first prize for Yoga and Talk-a-Thon competition respectively. In Key Stage-III for the participants of 11 to 14 years, Tanakit Manasak from Thailand won the first prize of skipping competition in boys category, Parisha Midha of Adarsh Public School, New Delhi won the first prize of skipping competition in girls category, Cristina Garcia of AI Batinah International School, Oman won the first prize of Skating competition, Mandar Chandnani of CMS Gomti Nagar Campus-I, won the first prize in Freestyle Football, Cheenu Kadyan of St. Mark’s Girls Senior Secondary School, New Delhi won the first prize of Sit-ups (Girls) competition, Rumen Srebkov of High School of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Acad, Bulgaria won the first prize of Push-ups (Boys) competition, Divya Sahi of CMS Indira Nagar Campus won the first prize of Bounce Back (Boys) competition and Parth Srivastava of City International School, Lucknow won the first prize in Online Sports Quiz. In Key Stage-IV for the participants of 14 to 19 years, Kashvi Tyagi of Adarsh Public School won the first prize in Skating, Hiya Wadhwa of St. Mark’s Senior Secondary School, New Delhi won the first prize in Sit-ups (Girls), Viktor Uzunov from Bulgaria won the first prize in Push-ups (Boys), Ridham Mahauria of Adarsh Public School, New Delhi won the first prize in Skipping (Boys), Yashasvi Verma of CMS Aliganj Campus-I won the first prize in Skipping (Girls), Karan Yadav of CMS Rajajipuram Campus I won the first prize in Freestyle Football and Mohd. Hasan of CMS Chowk Campus won the first prize in Bounce Back (Boys).
