City Montessori School, Lucknow, the world’s largest school by pupils, as mentioned in the Guinness Book of Worlds Records, is a unique institution that has been a trailblazer in the educational firmament. It is the proud recipient of the 2002 UNESCO Prize for Peace Education. It was the first school in the world to introduce, promote and institutionalize the concept of Quality Circles and Total Quality Management in Education in the year 1992. In 2014, CMS society was accredited with the United Nations Department of Public Information as an affiliated NGO.

CMS Kanpur Road Campus pioneered the idea of a School IPL and organized the world’s first International School Cricket League besides forming the International Council for School Cricket (ICSC) in 2011. The phenomenal success of the four previous editions of this sports gala and the increasing participation from countries worldwide have transformed this global platform into a vehicle of empowerment by the promotion of healthy competition without conflict and a cradle for nurturing future international stars of cricket which is now no less than a religion in the world.

At CMS, all activities are oriented towards promotion of universal brotherhood, peace, harmony and unity. International Sports is transcendental in its significance, it enables one to cultivate a spirit and an unprejudiced vision of coexistence, accommodation and mutual respect. The 6th ISCL which is going to be organized from 27th January to 1st February, 2023 will certainly sow the seeds of courage, discipline, tolerance cohesion, team spirit, empathy, resilience, self esteem, fairness, self-restraint and perseverance in the tender hearts of our youngsters so that they can become better human beings and face future challenges determinedly, efficiently and rationally.

I feel privileged to invite you to be a part of this iconic cricketing extravaganza, the sixth edition of the ISCL aimed at promoting excellence in sports in connecting hearts by fostering intercultural exchanges, mutual understanding, goodwill and bonhomie in today’s interconnected world. I am sure this tournament will be a celebration of talent and our tryst with excellence and expertise.

We are immensely pleased to see that CMS Kanpur Road Campus is organizing the 6th International School Cricket League (ISCL) 2023 to foster the spirit of World Unity and global understanding through Sports. Games strengthen the bonds of friendship and brotherhood and team sprit. We welcome all the participating teams coming from different countries. We feel happy that the gathering of top cricketers in the tournament will help them to learn better techniques of playing the game.

The great thing about cricket is that it is truly an international game that promotes team spirit, co-operation, courage, moral character etc. Meeting together of young players from around the world will break barriers that have prevented friendship and cordiality among people of different nations.

We are happy to see that Senior Principal of CMS Kanpur Road Dr Vineeta Kamran and her staff have worked very hard to organise the tournament for which the best of facilities have been provided. The matches will be played during the day as well as night time.

I am delighted to welcome you all to the 6th International School Cricket League (ISCL). The passion for cricket is deep in us and there are lots of emotions fastened to it, so there is no doubt that this tournament will be another memorable event for all of us. The standard of the ISCL is increasing year after year and we are happy that we are giving many emerging players an opportunity to showcase their skills so that they can demonstrate their talent at the international level. This specific event offers a preview of some of the finest cricketers of the future.

I look forward to some wonderful cricketing from this year’s participants. I also hope that when the game is over, the participants will join the other players in praising each other's skills and widening their circle of exchange, as good rivals and friends. Let all these things make this tournament a rich and rewarding time for all.

There is no doubt that physical activity is vital to the holistic development of young people. The benefits of sports reach much beyond only physical well being. Regular sports activities especially team games, build good habits, confidence and discipline. They transform young players into community leaders, teaching them to learn from mistakes, making them team players and enable their all round personality development.

The International School Cricket League (ISCL), a unique initiative of City Montessori School, Kanpur Road, creates a remarkable opportunity for young people across various countries to come together on a common platform and participate in a healthy and positive environment that inculcates in them values and ethics, fostering the spirit of brotherhood, peace, harmony and unity.

I congratulate the Convenor of this mega event, Principal, Kanpur Road Campus, Dr (Mrs) Vineeta Kamran, and Organising Secretary, ISCL 2023, Mr Raju Singh Chauhan, for hosting this gargantuan event and also sincerely appreciate the efforts of wish all the members involved in this.

The sincere efforts and endeavour of CMS Management to promote School Cricket at International level is commendable. Dear Participants,

It gives me great pleasure and pride to welcome the participant schools from different parts of the world to the 6th International School Cricket League (ISCL) 2023. The grand successes of International School Cricket League (ISCL) hosted by CMS, Kanpur Road Campus have generated lots of interest and willingness to join and participate in this T20 format of cricketing. The 5th ISCL saw participation of teams from Australia, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Oman, Afghanistan, Bangladesh and India. The luminaries from the Cricket world like Mr. Rajeev Shukla, Vice President, BCCI and Commissioner, IPL, Mr. Chetan Sharma, Former Indian Test Cricketer, Mr. Ajay Jadeja, Former Indian Cricketer, Mr. R. P. Singh, Indian Cricketer, Mr. Suresh Raina, Indian Cricketer, Mr. Mohammed Kaif, Mr. Irfan Pathan, Mr. Anshuman Gaekwad and Mr. Aravinda De Silva graced this occasion. The winner trophy of 5th ISCPL was lifted by the team of Aster Public School, Greater Noida, U. P. ISCPL’s main aim is to catch the children young and to raise the bar in terms of their fitness level, strength, speed, agility as also to nurture such players who shall be the great cricketers of tomorrow. The ISCL shall also serve as an international platform for students to explore and showcase their talent in the best possible manner. Apart from this the event shall also serve to foster goodwill, unity and better relationship among the school teams and nations across the world. I am sure that the 6th ISCL shall be an event to look forward to, for every cricket lover who wants to shine at the international arena in the world of tomorrow.
