WIZMIC Mission

A MISSION OF PEACE & UNITY THROUGH MATHEMATICS

The aims of this event are –
  1. To promote international understanding, friendship and brotherhood to generate WORLD UNITY
  2. Mission of the school is WORLD PEACE through WORLD UNITY
  3. To provide an opportunity for students at elementary level, to manifest their mathematical talents.
  4. To unfold a platform for mathematical interaction at elementary level.
  5. To develop consciousness in the schools at global level to brush up the elementary mathematics curriculum.

City Montessori School popularly known as CMS was founded by us in 1959, with five children on borrowed capital of Rs.300/-to impart value and virtue-based education to children. We believe in Mahatma Gandhi's teachings of non violence, co-existence and the need to promote social transformation through education.

Rules and Regulations

  1. Participation in WIZMIC 2020 is by invitation. Each invited country is entitled to send 4 teams or more. A team will consist of a Leader, a Deputy Leader & four Contestants.
  2. Contestants should have enrolment at elementary school in academic year 2020 and must have been born on or after 19th October 2006.
  3. Participating teams are responsible for their own travelling expenses to and from Lucknow.
  4. Registration fee is only US $ 25 per contestant for international teams and Rs. 1000/- per contestant for Indian teams for WIZMIC period. No registration fees is being charged from the participating schools of Lucknow (CMS & Local).
  5. There is no registration fee for the Team Leaders and Deputy Team Leaders.
  6. Amount will be paid in cash (at the time of registration) or through demand draft in the name of 'CITY MONTESSORI SCHOOL, LUCKNOW', payable at Lucknow. The Demand Draft may be submitted at the time of registration, on arrival of the team.
  7. Each participating country should send an official acceptance, the names of the team leader, deputy leader and team members by 31st August 2020. Intimation regarding the flight arrangement should also reach the committee by 30th September 2020.
  8. Leader and deputy leader are responsible for the conduct of the team members.

THE CONTEST

  1. The WIZMIC contest will be in two parts -
    • Individual Contest
    • Team Contest
  2. Each participating country has to send us two sets of proposed problems with solution before 10th September 2016
    • Five proposed problems for individual contest
    • Five proposed problems for Team contest
  3. Contestants will not be allowed to take any paper, books, tables, calculators or computers in the contest hall
  4. The solutions of the contestants will be assessed

  • Arithmetic: Integers, rational numbers and their representations (fraction, decimal, and percentage),
  • Number Theory: Prime Factorization, Greatest Common Divisor, Least Common Multiples number ordering, ratio and proportion.
  • Geometry: Angle and its measure, Area and perimeter of the following: triangle, quadrilateral, parallelogram, trapezoid, rhombus, n-side polygon, circles, cube, parallelepiped nets, symmetry, reflection and rotation, and similarity of polygon.
  • Data Handling: data representation, mean (average), median, and mode.
