Winners of the gold, silver & bronze medals in Silverzone GK Olympiad from CMS Aliganj Campus I

 

Wipro Earthian Award of Rs. 1 lakh received in 2017 (for the third year running) from Wipro Chairman Mr. Azim Premji in Bangalore for a Biodiversity project by the students of CMS Kanpur Road campus, Vishesh Upadhyay, Himanshu Mishra, Shandrima Nath, Tweesha Sahni and Shruti Yadav, and their teacher Mrs Kavita S. Shahi, Environment Coordinator of CMS Kanpur Road Campus.

1. Young Reporters for Environment is a project which is active in 25 countries of the world. It aims to encourage the youth to take up social action projects related to sustainable development and environment protection. Mridul Rathi and Ashmit Singh of Class VIII of Jopling Road Campus have won the First Prize for the video created by them on Litterless Campaign.



2. City Montessori School, Jopling Road Campus is one of the 11 Runners-Up in the Earth Day Network Indian Morning Assembly Contest.
On the occasion of the World Earth Day activities were carried out in the Pre-Primary, Primary and Junior Section of the school where all the students were motivated to participate in the painting, drawing, quiz and elocution contests held during the morning assembly. Our Principal, teachers and support staffs were engaged in the activities to spread the message to protect and preserve the Mother Earth.



3. Our children eagerly participated in the poster making contest organised by U.P. Transport's Department on the occasion of "Road Safety Week". The first, second and third prize winners were suitably awarded. The OSD to the Transport Minister Mr. Umang Modi gave a talk the students to sensitize them about road accidents and educated them about the rules on wearing seat-belts and helmets. Children learnt a lot as to how to walk safely on the road. The winners are- Sarah Rihab-1st, Zakia Jamal Atta-2nd, Sadaf Imtiaz-3rd.

Various CMS campuses have won outstanding awards in 2016 (and 2015), such as the Wipro Earthian Award of Rs. 1 lakh (both in 2015 and again in 2016) from the Wipro Chairman Mr. Azim Premji for a water-conservation project at the CMS Kanpur Road campus; the Paryavaran Mitra Puraskar awards and Paryavaran Dronacharya awards to teachers of CMS RDSO campus (Ms Musarrat Fatima and of CMS Jopling Road campus (Ms Anupam Johari); the Vanyajeev Dronachrya Award from the Indian Centre for Wildlife and Environmental Studies in South Asia Region (ICWESSAR) Jaipur, to the environment project coordinator at CMS Aliganj I campus Mr Kailash Kesarwani; and the Paryavaran Ratan Rajat Padak from the ICWESSAR to Shyam Agarwal, student of CMS Aliganj-I to recognize their sensitivity towards the environment, changes in climate and environmental conservation.

A documentary film Gauraiya: The Great Indian Sparrow made by students of CMS Mahanagar campus was shortlisted and screened at the prestigious 7th National Science Film Festival in Kolkata in mid February 2017.

In March, Ajita Singh, student of CMS Gomti Nagar-II campus bagged 1st prize in the Janeshwar Mishra Horti-fair2015. A short documentary film made by three students of Station Road Campus won the ‘Veerbhadra Mishra Award’ on 23rd August 2015.

In December 2015, CMS Kanpur Road Campus was awarded with the Wipro Earthain-Paryavaran Mitra Award 2015 on Biodiversity.

On 21st March 2014, four Campuses of City Montessori School were awarded State Level Paryavaran Mitra Puraskar in various categories at ceremony held in Lucknow. CMS RDSO was awarded for the State Level Paryavaran Mitra Puraskar for Best School Award; Abhinav Srivastava student of CMS Gomti Nagar Campus-I was awarded with the State Level Paryavaran Mitra Puraskar for Young Leader for Change Award while CMS Gomti Nagar Campus-II and CMS Rajendra Nagar Campus-III were awarded with an 'Appreciation Certificate' under the Best School Category of Paryavaran Mitra Puraskar.

Students of CMS Kanpur Road Campus winning the 'National Earthian Award'. These students include: Durga Mohini, Anjali Tiwari, Tamanna Shahi, Saurabh Yadav, Vishesh Upadhyay who have been honoured by Wipro Limited for their commendable works in 'Water Sustainability and Biodiversity'. They were assisted by Mrs Kavita S. Sahi, teacher of CMS Kanpur Road Campus.

 

 

First Prize in International Conference of Pre-primary and Primary Principals in Display Board Competition

CMS Station Road won the First Prize in International Conference of Pre-primary and Primary Principals in Display Board Competition.

 

CMS teacher Mr Kailash Keserwani won first prize on International Ozone Day 2016.

On International Ozone Day 2016, among 30 teachers took part in presenting their views on the importance of Ozone layer at Regional Science Center, Lucknow, where eminent guest was Mr.C M Nautiyal a Scientist and Director of Environment. Mr Kailash Keserwani won first prize in Powerpoint Presentation Category.

On 30th December 2014, City Montessori School, Kanpur Road Campus was awarded with the Wipro Earthain-Paryavaran Mitra Award on water and Sustainability.

'Veerbhadra Award' for best presentation at Environment Innovation Fest

In September 2014, a six-member team of City Montessori School, Mahanagar Campus II brought glory to the institution by winning the prestigious 'Veerbhadra Award' for best presentation at Environment Innovation Fest organized under the joint aegis of social organization 'Swayam Siddha' and Ministry of Environment and Forest, Govt. of India. Naman Tiwari, a member of this prize winning team was honoured with the Best Actor Award.

Mrs Anupama Johri, a teacher of City Montessori School, Jopling Road Campus has won the prestigious 'Paryavaran Mitra Puraskar-2014'.

CMS student awarded with Rs. 2 lacs cash for Braincafe Budding Scientist Contest organized on national level

Amartya Jha, a talented class III student of City Montessori School, Gomti Nagar (Campus I) has been declared the runner-up of 'Braincafe Budding Scientist Contest' held on national level in Mumbai and awarded with the cash prize of Rs. 2 lacs. The competition had been organized for selection of the budding scientists from India and Amartya Jha displayed his amazing model that showed the process of water conservation and its importance, in the final round of Braincafe Budding Scientist Contest that earned great commendation of the judges of the event. Two outstanding students of CMS namely Amartya Jha and Aman Tiwari competed with 105 students of 28 schools at the recently finished qualifier round of this significant contest and positioned themselves among 5 finalists. Amartya Jha prepared a socially useful model in the final round and became the runner up.

 

CMS student gets first prize for his ideas on Environmental Conservation

Devansh Shukla, class IX students of CMS Mahanagar Campus I won the first prize in the Environment Youth Cafe' organised on the topic 'ways to conserve environment in the city of Lucknow'. The event was organised by Uttar Pradesh Directorate of Environment in association with NGO Swayam Siddha at Indian Railways Institute of Transport Management (IRITM), Lucknow. He has been awarded a trophy for this achievement by the organisers. More than 15 school teams participated in Youth Cafe to generate ideas on ways to conserve the environment of the city. The best ideas generated from the session would be compiled and handed over to the directorate of environment, which would eventually be included in the environment policies.
