Organic Vegetable Gardening
CMS Gomti Nagar Campus II junior section students took the initiative to try organic vegetable gardening. First of all, they keenly observed and learnt various techniques to implement their project.
On 17 January 2018, students were brought old plastic tubs, the purpose of asking them to bring it was to reuse plastic tubs. Then in the guidance of the gardener students sowed the seeds of different vegetables like spinach, beetroot, coriander, mint, cabbage, Chenopodium (Bathuwa), tomato. While going back home they looked after their adopted plant and nurtured it. In this way they were able to grow organic vegetables which are fertilizer and pesticide free because as manure, the children used compost made at CMS GN-II compost pit.
The basket used for storing these vegetables was also environment friendly made out of old used towel and plaster of paris
