Online TED-Ed Event
Margaret Mead a cultural anthropologist rightly said “Children must be taught how to think and not what to think”.
Children see magic in everything because they look for it and create something new with it.
They are the inventors and the future builders of the world. They just need a platform to express themselves, as they are the young adults who deserve to be unfolded.
City Montessori School, Gomtinagar Extension and Cambridge section believe in the power of ideas of their students that it can bring a change and strength of stories that it can pave
ways for a brighter future. To make the voices heard of the young generation of millennials the TED-Ed club was established in the campus last year. On 17th June, 2020 the 2nd edition of
TED-Ed the TED-Ed UNLOCKED an online event was organized in which the members of the club shared their views on the topic Revolution 2020: Future of Education. TED-Ed is a
platform created by TED for the GEN Y members to share their ideas, views and stories and enable them to have a TED like experience.
The guest speaker for the event was Mrs Poulomi Pavini Shukla a lawyer by profession, writer and humanitarian who is profoundly committed to the cause of Orphans in India. She
has strenuously researched and wrote a book called Weakest on Earth - Orphans of India. The event commenced with the welcome address by the Principal Mrs Sangeeta Banerjee which
was followed by the blessing by the Respected Founder Manager of CMS Jagdish Gandhi who also shared his views on the aspects of education. The Director of Strategy Mr Roshan
Gandhi shared valuable inputs on the Future of education and Professor Geeta Gandhi Kingdon, President and Chief Operating Officer graced the event with her presence.
The event was attended by eminent Principals of CMS and saw a huge turn out by the young generation who were there to support and encourage their peers and have a TED like
experience. Event was summed by the Senior Principal Ms Manjit Batra who proposed the vote of thanks. An event like this was a dream come true for the students as they had put in a
lot of sincere effort and hard work. It was a basically a student driven event and the outcome was tremendous.
