An Introduction

Geofest International is an event for developing the interest of the students in Geography, a part of humanities with a scientific base. On one hand, it deals with man and his environment and on the other it studies the cause and effects of various natural phenomenon occurring on our Earth's surface. During the past century human activities have released large amounts of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases which have created a blanket over earth. Global Warming, De-forestation, Soil Erosion, Extinction of Species, Pollution etc. have become household topics of discussion.

Over the years people have started understanding these global phenomenon and their adverse effects. Mass awareness has to be created among people to conserve environment for a better future of the coming generations. Keeping the above mentioned occurrences in view and to develop a sense of belongingness to our mother earth. GEOFEST International was first organized in 2002. Since its inception GEOFEST International has earned acclaim and goodwill of many institutions and organizations which endeavour to work towards saving the planet from man made problems. Now it has become a world wide event with over 90 National & International teams taking active part in it.

It has helped us to cultivate world wide friendship and brotherhood for mass co-operation to change the present deteriorating scenario of the environment.
