world parliament for world
peace
Another example of the extensive peace education programme of CMS is the mock World Parliament, another unique CMS peace teaching exercise. In these mock sessions, children playact as leaders of various countries of the world coming together to form a World Government for tackling serious issues that threaten the very survival of life on our planet.
The children
discuss issues like the growing environmental threat, the ever-increasing ecological imbalance, the crushing problems of poverty in the developing countries and the ever-increasing social tensions and violence.
They also discuss measures to ameliorate these. The central theme of these discussions is how to ensure lasting world peace so that humanity may be allowed to feed, clothe and care for its silent suffering masses.
