celebrating brotherhood of
humankind
CMS peace education programme aims at helping children develop an awareness of being part of the larger human family. Therefore, the School celebrates United Nations Day, the Commonwealth Day, SAARC Day, Earth Day, Human Rights Day, International Women's Day etc among others. On these occasions, various types of competitions are organised based on the theme of world unity and world peace.
Since helping children imbibe globalism by equiping them with an international outlook and a global perspective has been the corner stone of CMS educational philosophy, thus the United Nations Day celebrations are an important part of the CMS academic calendar.
For the Peace Millennium Festival celebrated on 24 October, 1999 the United Nations Day, Dr Kofi Annan, the Secretary General of UNO, himself sent a message to CMS praising the schools' efforts.
CMS also organises contests like International Peace Poster & Peace Quilt Competition and International Peace Greeting Card Design Competition to mark the day in a way that generates peace awareness amongst children which invariably draws large crowds. Similar competitions are also organised to mark the SAARC Day, Commonwealth Day, Earth Day, Human Rights Day, International Women's Day etc to help children become aware of humanity's common cultural heritage.
CMS also uses sports events to generate peace awareness. The RDSO Branch of CMS is organising EXSPO, an international invitational sports meet to promote world peace and unity.
