1. A local team will comprise of minimum 6 and maximum 8 participants from Classes VIII to X
2. Local teams are to register their participation on 12th November, 2010 at 9.00 am at Manager's Room, CMS Gomtinagar, Lucknow
3. The venue for the competition will be CMS, Gomtinagar
 
 

a) Poem Composition and Recitation

Participant : One
Theme : Topic will be related to world peace and will be given on the spot
Time for composition : One hour
Length of the composition : 12-16 lines (to be self composed)
Time limit for recitation : 1 ½ minutes

The allotment of marks will be as follows:
Title of the poem - 10 marks
Composition - 20 marks
Delivery - 10 marks
Presentation and expression - 10 marks

 

(b) Speech Competition

Participant - One
Topic - ‘Power in self belief’.
Time limit - 3 minutes
Language - English

The allotment of marks will be as follows:
Content - 10 marks
Delivery - 10 marks
Originality - 10 marks
Presentation and expression - 20 marks

 

(c) Story Writing

  • This event will be represented by one participant.
  • The short story should be original with a minimum of 300-350 words.
  • Participants will be given a choice of topic and half an hour will be allotted for the preparation of the story when no participant will be allowed to write.
  • The topic will be given on the spot.
  • Participants will be given one hour immediately after the planning time to write the story.

The marks allotment will be as follows:

  • Content - 20 marks
  • Linguistic ability - 10 marks
  • Creativity - 10 marks
 

(d) Hindi Solo Singing

  • This event will be represented by one participant.
  • The theme is ‘VISHWA EKTA’
  • Solo singing can be accompanied by any three musical instrument. Auto rhythm is also allowed.
  • The participant will bring his or her own musical instruments.
  • The participant will sing one sthai and one antra. Commercial/Film songs are not allowed.
  • The limit will be 3 minutes.

The allotment of marks will be as follows:

  • Theme - 10 marks
  • Rhythm - 10 marks
  • Melody - 10 marks
  • Presentation - 10 marks

(e) Western Group Singing

  • 6 - 8 members of the team can participate.
  • The theme is "WORLD PEACE AND UNITY".
  • Group singing can be accompanied by any three musical instruments. The teams have to bring their own musical instruments.
  • Auto rhythm is allowed.
    Time limit for each song presentation is 4 minutes. Stage setting time is not included in this.
  • Commercial/ Film songs are not allowed.

The allotment of marks will be as follows:

  • Theme - 10 marks
  • Rhythm - 10 marks
  • Melody - 10 marks
  • Presentation - 10 marks

(f) Collage competition

  • This event will be represented by two participants as a team.
  • The theme of the collage will be related to WAR AND PEACE.
  • Participants will give a suitable caption to the collage.
  • Participants should bring with them all the material required. Use of scissors not allowed.
  • Time limit will be two hours.
  • No ready-made material will be acceptable.
  • Chart paper or base sheets will be provided.

The allotment of marks will be as follows:

  • Theme - 10 marks
  • Material used - 10 marks
  • Creativity - 10 marks
  • Presentation - 20marks
 

(g) Quiz

  1. Each team will comprise of two participants.
  2. There will be a written round on 13th November, 2010 (1.30 - 2.30pm). Six (6) best teams will be selected for the finals to be held on 14th November, 2010.
  3. The Quiz will consist of following rounds :-
  • Current Affairs
  • Sports
  • Entertainment
  • Books and Author
  • Rapid fire

(h) Turncoat (Debate)

  • Each team will be represented by one participant.
  • Each participant will be given half an hour to prepare the topic.
  • Time limit for the debate is 4 minutes (2 minutes for and 2 minutes against the motion) on the same topic.
  • A buzzer will be pressed after the second minute to warn the participant to turn to turncoat.
  • Anything said after the final buzzer shall be ignored.

The allotment of marks will be as follows:

  • Content - 20 marks
  • Diction/delivery of the speech - 10 marks
  • Spontaneity in changing presentation - 10 marks

(i) Slide show Contest

Topic: "Changing Face of Earth”

  • Each team will be represented by two students.
  • Participants will be provided with a multimedia computer.
  • They will be given two hours for preparing the presentation.
  • They will be required to make 10-12 slides on the above topic using MS power point.
  • Importing of graphics and pictures is allowed.
  • Participants should bring their own clips on CD or floppy disks for importing graphics and images.

The allotment of marks is as follows:

  • Content - 20 marks
  • Creativity - 10 marks
  • Appropriate caption - 10 marks
  • Overall presentation - 10 marks

(j) Techno-paint Contest

  • Each team will be represented by two students.
  • Topic will be given on the spot
  • They will be given 10 min. to plan in advance after which the participants will be asked to work on the computer in Paint Brush.
  • They will be given 50 min. to complete the presentation.
  • The presentation should be original and no importing of graphics is allowed.

The allotment of marks will be as follows—

  • Overall Presentation - 10 marks
  • Use of tool palettes - 10 marks
  • Mouse control - 10 marks
  • Appropriate caption - 10 marks
  • Creativity - 10 marks

The deadline to confirm entries is 15th October, 2010
