Lucknow, December 11: CMS Gomti Nagar Campus II organized a 4-day International Environment Olympiad (IEO-2019) from 12 to 15 December at CMS Kanpur Road auditorium. Chief Guest, Mr R Ramesh Kumar, IAS, Secretary, Higher and Secondary Education, UP, inaugurated the function ceremoniously by lighting the lamp of learning. Around 500 students from Nepal and various states of India actively participated in this Olympiad and a safe and green environment and a pollution-free earth. Convenor and Senior Principal Ms Manjit Batra said that this event is an effort to enhance children's awareness regarding the conservation of human resources and protection of the environment. Co-Convenor and Principal Mrs Sangeeta Banerjee said that the event will be helpful in changing the mindset of the people and creating a greener environment conducive to healthy well-being and growth of society. The Olympiad was replete with exciting events for boys and girls, like Poetree (Presenting Self Composed Poem), Dancing Waters (Choreography), Imagineering my Future (Re-Designing the Globe), Colours of Symphony (T-Shirt Painting), Wonders of Nature (Environment Quiz) etc. Participating students from various countries reveal beauty of nature and created an awareness to protect the environment through these contests. The four-day International Environment Olympiad (IEO-2019) organized by CMS, Gomti Nagar Campus II came to a grand closure on 15 December at CMS Kanpur Road auditorium. On this occasion, the prize winning students were awarded and honoured with medals, shields and certificates. The Overall Championship of IEO-2019 was bagged by the students' team of Bhavan's B. P. Vidya Mandir, Nagpur, and Maharashtra. This team won the championship in both junior and senior sections while the Runner-up trophy went to CMS Gomti Nagar Campus I in the Senior Section and CMS Rajajipuram Campus I in the Junior Section.
