Lucknow, July 14: Model United Nations (MUN) or the ‘UN in miniature’ is just what is needed to train children to become World Citizens. These children are the future hope of humanity who can build a better world of the future. At the MUNs, they are made aware of global problems and they try to find practical solutions to these problems through intense deliberation, discussion and debate. The three-day Model United Nations (MUN) Conference organized by CMS, Gomti Nagar Campus I kicked off to a fine start on 14 July at CMS Gomti Nagar Campus I Auditorium. Chief Guest Mr Rajiv Chandran, National Information Officer of United Nations Information Centre (UNIC), lit the lamp to formally inaugurate the MUN. Earlier, CMS Founder Dr Jagdish Gandhi heartily welcomed the Chief Guest. The Conference was invigorated with the motivational presence of CMS President Prof. Geeta Gandhi Kingdon, Senior Principal of CMS Gomti Nagar Campus, Ms Manjit Batra, Principal of CMS Gomti Nagar Campus I, Mrs Abha Anant, Principal of CMS Gomti Nagar Campus II, Mrs Sangeeta Banerjee and others. Chief Guest Mr Rajiv Chandran said that the need of the hour today is to globalize and broaden the outlook of youth and adolescents by giving them the latest information about current affairs, international relations and diplomacy. The Conference saw the active participation of over 350 students belonging to 24 schools of Lucknow and other parts of India.
