CMS student selected for Commonwealth Chess Championship, to compete with players of 80 countries

Lucknow, July 02: Medhansh Saxena, a talented Class IV student of CMS, Kanpur Road Campus has been chosen to represent the state at the Commonwealth Chess Championship which is indeed a matter of great pride and honour for Lucknow and Uttar Pradesh. Young chess players from 80 countries are participating in this international chess championship. Medhansh of CMS is the only chess player from Uttar Pradesh in this category.

Medhansh is a child prodigy who has been playing since the age of three and has won championships in about 20 contests at district, state and national level since he was ten years old, in Under-7 National Chess Championship, Under-10 District Open Chess Tournament and Lucknow International Rating All India Open Chess Championship etc. Besides, he had also participated in World Youth Chess Championship held in Greece. This talented CMS student has secured his place among the young and famous chess players and is firmly determined to elevate the national flag in this game.
