CMS students win Overall Championship in inter-school music and dance competition

Lucknow, 20 September : Team of talented students of City Montessori School, Kanpur Road Campus won the Overall Championship of 'Srijan-2012', an inter-school competition of music, dance, instrumental music and anchoring organized under the aegis of Sanmarg Events, thus bringing laurels to the institution. The competition was held at Sangeet Natak Academy with an aim of developing the multi-sided talents of children. This information was given by the Chief Public Relations Officer of CMS, Mr Hari Om Sharma. Mr Sharma informed that students of several prestigious schools and colleges of Lucknow participated in this competition and displayed their talents through music and dance. CMS Kanpur Road students won maximum number of first prizes in various categories and events as well as the overall championship beating the other schools with their excellence in music and dance. While on the one hand, Chhavi Srivastava and Vaibhav Raj of CMS Kanpur Road won the first and second prizes respectively in solo singing competition (junior section), on the other hand, in duet singing it was Sukanya Mitra and Somojita Das who stole the show and won first prize. Similarly, in group singing and group dance for juniors and Rock Band for seniors, the students of CMS Kanpur Road bagged first prizes. Besides these, Avinash and Kushagra bagged the first prizes respectively in Anchoring and Instrumental Music competitions bringing name and fame to the institution. In several other contests, talented students of CMS Kanpur Road won second and third prizes displaying their talents before the judges and the audience.

            Mr Sharma informed that CMS imparts material, social and divine education to its students and also develops their taste for cultural and literary activities as well besides encouraging them according to their capability. This helps CMS students to top academically and also make their presence felt in song, music, dance, literature and art. CMS students get appropriate training from the school for these extra curricular activities. Music is the food of soul, it empowers inner strength and helps students to become a humble and cultured citizen of the society, Mr Sharma said. CMS continuously endeavours to instill devotion, melody, humility and peace in students by teaching music and singing to them. CMS aims to impart such education to children that prepares them as world leaders, so that they lead the world using their humanistic approach.
