| MATHS QUIZ |
Date: 1st September 2012 |
Time: 01.30 pm – 3.00 pm |
| |
Each team will be represented by 2 (two) participants only.
- It is a written competition where a set of questions will be given to each team and the team members will work jointly on the paper.
- The time limit for this event is one and a half hours.
- Questions will be based on Class XI and XII syllabi.
- The winner will be decided on the basis of the marks scored.
- The participants will not be allowed to bring any material like books, paper and other things except pen/pencil. The rough sheets, if needed will be provided by the organizers.
- The Judges decision will be final and binding.

HALF-A-MINUTE |
Date: 2nd September 2012 |
Time: 10.00 am – 12.00 noon |

Each team will be represented by 1 (one) participant only.
- The participant will be given a topic on which he / she will have to speak for HALF-A-MINUTE without wasting any time.
- An objection may be raised by the other participants for any one of the following reasons:
(i) Pause,
(ii) Hesitation,
(iii) Grammatical errors,
(iv) Unnecessary repetition of words, phrase, topic & lifting another participant’s ideas
(v) Time wasting technique, eg. Counting numbers, spelling the word, singing etc.,
(vi) Reproducing a prepared piece more than once.
(vii) Using the same idea under different topics.
- Participant with the highest marks wins.
- Five (5) points will be awarded if the participant, on interjection, (on having correctly hammed) speaks till the end of HALF-A-MINUTE.
- One (1) point will be awarded and one (1) point will be deducted for a valid and invalid objection respectively.
- At the discretion of the Moderator, one or two points may be awarded for humour, wit, speaking for 15 uninterrupted seconds, etc.
- The clock won’t be stopped in case of an invalid interjection.
- The decision of the Moderator will be final and binding.

ELOCUTION |
Date: 1st September 2012 |
Time: 10.00 am – 12.30 pm |

Each team will be represented by 1 (one) participant only.
- The piece selected can be a poem, a speech or a prose piece but not self composed material.
- The participant will be allowed a maximum of 3 (three) minutes to elocute (to present their chosen piece).
- Marks will be deducted for exceeding the time-limit.
- The criteria for the judgment will be fluency, expression and clarity.
- The Judges decision will be final and binding.
Participants of Elocution (Seniors) and Social Window (Seniors) should not be common.
Important:
- Kindly send your edited passages or poems at the earliest. This is to avoid duplication of passages or poems during the competition.
- The piece should reach us latest by 10th August 2012 through e-mail macfair@cmseducation.org or through speed post. Do not send the elocution piece by fax.

SOCIAL WINDOW |
Date: 1st September 2012 |
Time: 10.30 am – 12.30 pm |

Each team will be represented by 1 (one) participant only.
- The team has to bring a prepared advertisement/documentary/presentation of 3 (three) minutes duration on any social issue delivering a social message.
- The team will submit CD/DVD of the advertisement/documentary/presentation at the time of the registration on 30th August 2012. The CD/DVD must contain event name, college/school name and the participants name.
- Each team has to present the prepared advertisement/documentary/presentation (marks will be deducted for exceeding the time limit of 3 minutes) in front of the jury members. After the presentation the participant may be questioned by the jury members.
- The judgment criteria will be quality of presentation, innovation, concept and effective social message.
- Each team will be provided IBM compatible computer minimum 1 GB RAM default, 15” monitor of 1024 x 768 resolution, DVD ROM without writer, running Windows XP and MSOffice 2007 and other default softwares.
- The Judges decision will be final and binding.
Participants of Social Window (Seniors) and Elocution (Seniors) should not be common.
Note:
- It is advisable that the team must bring required software with them to avoid any inconvenience arising due to non-compatibility with the software provided by the organisers.
- The teams can also use their own laptops (Desktops are not allowed). Marks will be deducted if the presentation on the laptop differs from the submitted CD/DVD.

| CHOREOGRAPHY |

Each team will be represented by minimum 6 (six) participants only.
- The team can use pre-recorded instrumental music.
- Lyrics based songs are not allowed (however use of shlokas and alaap is allowed).
- The judgment criteria will be interpretation of the topic, music, appeal and presentation.
- The teams have to arrange their own accessories, if so required.
- The Judges decision will be final and binding.

| SCIENCE MODEL DISPLAY |

Each team will be represented by 2 (two) participants only.
- Each team will put up an original working/non-working model.
- The Judges will assess the model and may also ask questions.
- The judgment criteria will be creativity, presentation, practical utility and answers to the questions.
- The participants may bring charts etc. to enhance their explanation.
- Please note that a power supply of 220-240 Volts 50 Hertz A.C. will be provided.
- The teams are requested to bring their own battery eliminators, electrical devices, electronic devices and other accessories, if required.
- The Judges decision will be final and binding.

| MAC-BUG |

(Qualifying and Final round) |

Each team will be represented by 2 (two) participants only.
- Each team will be given a set of 4 (four) programs and one question based on Information Technology.
- The programming languages will be BASIC, JAVA, C++ and C only and one program on each programming language.
- The team has to tell the line number and the ERROR(s) in the program.
- A total of 3 (three) minutes would be given to each team to tell the line numbers and the error in all the programs which will be flashed one after the other.
- Do not waste time on one program. If you can find out the line number and the error, prompt immediately otherwise say PASS or NEXT to see the new program on the screen. The new program will be flashed only when the team asks for it by saying PASS or NEXT.
- The marking criteria will be as:
(i) Prompting the correct line number 2 points
(ii) Prompting the correct error 3 points
(iii) Correct answer for Information Technology question 5 points
- The teams for the final round will be chosen on the basis of the qualifying round using the pattern mentioned above.
- The best 8 (eight) teams will be selected for the final round. In this round only programs will be flashed for each team. Other rules will be same as mentioned above.

| TWIN-QUINTURDLES |

Each team will be represented by 2 (two) participants only.
- This event is divided into 5 (five) sub-events. Each team has to perform all the following events:
(i) Spellathon- Time Limit: 1 minute
One of the team members would be given 10 (ten) words to spell in quick succession. Correct answer will fetch 1 mark.
(ii) Video Game- Time Limit: 30 seconds
One of the team members will play a game. Points scored will be considered as
score of the team.
(iii) Instrumental Music- Time Limit: 1 minute
Any instrument (except keyboard) would be played by one of the team members for the given time. The team has to
arrange for their own musical instrument.
(iv) Dumb Charades- Time Limit: 30 seconds
In this sub-event both the participants will participate. One of the participants will enact the word while the other
participant guesses it.
(v) Folk-Dance- Time Limit: 1 minute
One of the participants has to present a prepared folk dance in traditional dress for the duration given above.
Note:
- After participating in 4 sub-events the participant will go back stage to dress up for the folk dance. The participants will present their dances after all other teams have finished their 4 events.
