QUIZ (Seniors and Juniors)
  1. Each team will be represented by TWO participants only (one from the senior and one from the junior section).

  2. There will be a qualifying written round to select the final teams participating in the Quiz.

  3. The top twelve teams will qualify for the finals on stage.

  4. Questions will be drawn from different elements of world literature suitable for the age of students participating in the competition.

  5. There will be one round of questions on the events of the classical Odyssey (Homer), in keeping with the title of the Literary Festival.

The Quiz Master's decision will be final and binding on all.

 
CREATIVE WRITING (Seniors and Juniors)
 
  1. Each institution should be represented by one participant in each section.

  2. Topics will be provided on the spot to the participants. There will be a choice of topics which will include pictures for mental stimulation.

  3. Participants may choose any genre of writing based on the topics provided.

  4. Ten minutes will be provided for preparation.

  5. Writing time will be 60 minutes.

ELOCUTION (Juniors)
 
  1. Each team will be represented by one participant only.

  2. The piece selected can be a poem, speech or other prose selection.

  3. The participant will be allowed a maximum of 3 minutes for recitation.

  4. Two copies of the piece selected by the participant for recitation must be submitted on A-4 size paper for judging of accuracy

  5. It is to be noted that elocution is the art of clear and expressive speech, especially including distinct pronunciation and articulation. Judgement will take these factors into consideration.

  6. Participants are advised that gesticulation or movement is not permitted for this competition.

  7. Marks will be deducted for exceeding the time limit.

DEBATE (Seniors)
 
  1. The team will be required to prepare both For and Against the motion and each team will be represented by a SINGLE speaker who will present his or her arguments either FOR OR AGAINST the motion according to a draw, which will be held on the Registration day.

  2. Each speaker will be allowed to present his or her views for a total of three minutes.

  3. A warning buzzer will be sounded after 2½ minutes.
    A final buzzer will be sounded signaling the end of the stipulated time.

  4. Marks will be deducted if the speaker exceeds the time limit of three minutes.

  5. A lively refutation for approximately 1 min will follow each speech, with interjection from among the participants. This will be moderated by the chairperson.

TOPIC : Literature forms the Highway to A Global Democracy

 
AD-WORLD (Seniors & Juniors)
 
  1. This will be a team event which may include every member of the team.

  2. Each team has to prepare and perform a mock promotion campaign for a socially relevant topic.

  3. The campaign must ideally include the following :
    a. An outline script
    b. A clear link between the topic and the presentation.
    c. Background music for audio-visual inputs.
    d. Effective direction.
    e. Special effects, props etc must be brought to the venue by the participating teams.
    f. Time limit is 3 minutes (on-off stage)

Concept and originality                                       : 20 Marks
Correlation of the topic and the Presentation : 20 Marks
Impact of presentation                                        : 10 Marks

 
DIRECTOR’S DESK (Seniors & Juniors)
 
  1. The team will comprise two members (1 from senior and 1 from junior section)

  2. This is an on the spot presentation designing contest .

  3. The topics will be related to fairy tale in contemporary scenario.

  4. The time duration for designing the presentation will be One Hour.

  5. The presentation should not contain more than 18 slides inclusive of the Title and the acknowledgement slides.

  6. The time limit for the presentation is 5 minutes.

  7. The participating team is allowed to bring their own images and graphics on a CD or USB drive, but it should not contain any presentation format as it will be scanned by the officials before the competition begins.

  8. Maximum size of the file should be 4 MB.

MIME ACT (Seniors & Juniors)
 
  1. This is a mime acting competition.

  2. The team will comprise two members (1 from senior and 1 from junior section) with active involvement of both the participants.

  3. The topic for the act will be related to effect of Superstitions and Super natural forces on Society.

  4. Stage presentation may include traditional white face painting for enhancing clarity of expression. Black and/or white combination costume will be permitted.

  5. Use of props is not allowed.

  6. Performers must bring pre-recorded non-vocal musical accompaniments or sound effects in CD form for background music, to the venue.

  7. No lip synching or audible vocal sounds are permitted.

  8. The time limit is 3 minutes.
