Each participating team is expected to submit a maximum of 10 proposed problems, five for Junior Level and five for Senior Level.
These problems and their solutions must be in English and should reach the working committee by 5th November, 2008. English is the official language of the IYMC.
The problems should cover, as far as possible, various fields of High School Mathematics for the Junior Level and various fields of Pre-College Mathematics for the Senior Level, with varying degrees of difficulty.
A Special Committee of IYMC will finalize the problems sent by the Teams.
The solutions of the contestants will be assessed by a Jury appointed independently by the IYMC working committee.
Institutions / Schools wishing to participate at the IYMC are requested to send an official acceptance through FAX or E-mail, before 20th September 2008.
Participating teams are responsible for their own travelling expenses to and from Lucknow. The organizers of the IYMC will be happy to provide hospitality free of cost to all outstation participants. This includes transport from and to the railway station / airport and boarding and lodging while in Lucknow.
A reception committee will receive each participating team on the scheduled date and time of arrival at either the Lucknow Railway station or the International Airport of Lucknow. The teams are requested to look for a banner reading “IYMC” on their arrival.
A Round-the-clock communication centre will be established at the venue for phone, fax and e-mail facilities.
Medical facilities will be available at the venue. A doctor will visit the premises at a fixed time everyday and will also be available on call at all times.
Pest control cover is provided at the venue and a strict vigil is maintained at the gates for the entire duration of the competition.
A “Help Desk” is operational to assist the participants in case they require anything. They are encouraged to contact the officials present at this desk for information and assistance. |
