We want young economists to aspire to improve the efficiency and equity of economic systems and to promote prosperity in a sustainable way. For this, it is important that they learn to balance the desire for outstanding economic outcomes with high ethical and environmental standards.
Economics is more than just a subject. The 5th International Youth Convention on Commerce and Economics aims to foster debate about our economic future. It promotes more alternative thinking around our economic and financial system.
Young people today are perceived as key drivers engendering change and progress. They represent the future as they bring new ideas, energy and add to the pool of knowledge that currently exists. Hence they need to be guided, encouraged, advised, taught and shown the way, so that they can play a pivotal role in building social cohesion and economics prosperity of the nation.
