According to Dr. Radhakrishnan, 'In the present dangerous, divided state of the world we may perhaps find in religions an overriding bond that would bring the nations together……and build bridges of understanding.'

The main reason as to why we have not been able to mold religious diversity into world unity is perhaps lack of communication amongst the followers of different faiths. There is a very little desire to learn each other's point of view. The isolated growth of mind breeds prejudices about other religion and there's no means to clear up this cobwebs. Domination of politics in matters of religion hampers the bridges of understanding and instigates differences. Finally, precedence of emotion over reasons in matters of religious faith comes in the way of a healthy discourse on inter faith reconciliation.

What we need to do is to encourage ourselves and others to develop an open mind and an open heart towards our fellow beings. If we learn to accept the otherness of others and respect the God given uniqueness of the billions of us, then conflicts will surely fade and solutions will emerge. It is with this noble mission to find solutions to the strife and conflict caused due to the lack or absence of interaction amongst the believers of various faiths that we are organizing the 3rd International Interfaith Conference.

We welcome everyone at the table of inter-faith dialogue, although all of us need to remind ourselves to be there with open minds that are free of prejudice. If an individual believes that his religion is the only true divine one and that the rest are merely contrived by humans, then the purpose of initiating a dialogue will not be served.

Interfaith harmony through interfaith dialogue will bring about the unity necessary for all religions to work together. With these words I welcome all the likeminded people to join this mission for the unification of mankind.
