The designation Fellow of the CMS (FCMS) is a recognition of the recipient as a role model for all on account of his/her high achievements in the service of society.
Ever since its inception in 1959, CMS has been striving for world unity and world peace. CMS education aims at raising a new generation of human beings who consider themselves world citizens and are committed to serving humanity. The success of Schools efforts are reflected in the recognition of CMS by the Guinness Book of World Records as World's largest city school and in the choice of UNESCO for the UNESCO Prize for Peace Education 2002. Fellows can use this designation (FCMS) with pride; however, they should also be aware that the award carries the responsibility of upholding the dignity of the CMS by maintaining the high standards of professional conduct and living upto the high ideals that CMS stands
for.
Responsibilities of Fellowship
Fellowship in the City Montessori School implies a personal commitment to the philosophy and ideals of the CMS, a responsibility for continuous professional development, service to society and adhering to the CMS philosophy. Participation in CMS activities can provide Fellows with an opportunity to interact with CMS students and becoming a light of the world by providing inspiration and guidance to the children.
The next award ceremony will take place
in December, 2003 at CMS LDA Branch, Kanpur Road, Lucknow.
The dates will be announced by the end of August, 2003.
How to apply:
Application are invited from outstanding former CMS students for the honorary award of 'FCMS'. Interested students are requested to submit their CV and colour photograph along with a write-up on how CMS education and the school's philosophy of Jai Jagat (Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam) contributed to their personality development and helped them in their careers. They may like to recall inspiring incidences from their days in CMS (e.g. during daily prayer assembly all religion prayer, World Peace Prayer Ceremony etc.) or mention the influence of their Principal/Teachers.
