CMS is a distinctive and remarkable school in academic excellence, spiritual and value-based education and enjoys the rare honour of being recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records as the world's largest school in a single city with over 35,000 pupils on its roll. CMS is the only school in the world to be awarded with UNESCO Prize for Peace Education, 2002.

Established in 1959 the school is unique in its approach. The difference lies in the vision—the vision of the world unity and world peace. The school motto JAI JAGAT (Glory be to the world) was carefully chosen to send across the message that unity and not the division of the world, was the destiny of mankind. Some thought that it was a utopian idea. Fortunately, after 49 years that 'utopian idea' is within easy reach of realisation, thanks to the incredible advancement in science and technology and the phenomenal rise of world unity and world peace promoters. If the vast network of information packed on the internet is any guide, one will realise the true feelings of the humanity. Threatened by the presence of nuclear weapons and the lives of world's 2 billion children constantly in danger, the humanity is left with no option except to embrace the inevitable—global unity for global peace.

Starting with only 5 children, the journey of the school has been marked with many difficulties and impediments. But, the 'noble cause' has kept it going, pushing it forward with innovative teachings, giving the best of results in the Board examinations year after year. As a result, the strength of the school has grown over 35,000 pupils.
