PAGE TO STAGE (rhyme enactment)

Irrespective of our age, the thoughts of yesteryears and the things learned appear as deja vu in our day to day life. A tune or two takes us back to the indelible years of our childhood. Tales and rhymes have stayed with us and many others around the world for years. We have inherited them from our grandparents and will continue to pass them to future generations.

The continued vitality of children's publishing despite competition from a host of newer media suggests that the illustrated books on nursery rhymes remains unparalleled in its ability to nurture the imagination and provide both instruction and delight.

Therefore, Eureka, through its novel competition, Page to stage takes you on a journey, a flashback and provides you with an opportunity not only to recite those rhymes but also to actually witness them being dramatized on the stage.

With friends I ran the lanes of childhood,
those thoughts stay on and memories linger
and still I hum the rhymes once learnt,
though words I do but faintly remember

Rules of the event:
1. All 5 members of the primary section team may participate.
2. The team is required to dramatize a popular English rhyme/song.

POP ART (collage)

We, the inhabitants of earth, have reached that stage where we need to reconsider and redesign our lifestyles for further healthy survival on this planet. If we want the generations to look forward to a healthy and green world, then we really have to change ourselves at the earliest.

There is no denying of the fact that the forest, canopy of the whole world has drastically depleted over a period of time owing to the human needs and desires. The outcome of which is an ecological imbalance that the planet faces and the feared extinction of all possible life forms, INCLUDING HUMANKIND. Statistics show that today the world has lost over 80 percent of its forests, and unless we take action NOW to replenish of what little is left, we stand to lose the rest of our trees in the next 20 years.

Saving trees does not demand us to go on a social activist rampage or join an ecological society that vehemently demands the usage of recycled paper but can begin by a simple act of not crumpling a piece of paper in anger or not tearing pages of a notebook to make paper-planes.

Collage is originally a French word derived from the word COLLER meaning to paste. A picture or design created by adhering such basically flat elements as newspaper, wallpapers, printed text and illustrations, photographs, cloth, string etc to a flat surface when the result becomes 3 dimensional is often referred to as collage.

Theme: Save Trees, Go Green

To sharpen, nourish and to prevent it from rusting, like any other part of our body our brain too is required to exercise regularly. An interactive verbal parrying with intelligence and wits is what a quiz is all about.

FOOTLOOSE (choreography) Theme – Green Peace: In Harmony with Nature

The twittering of birds, the gurgling of the streams and the swaying of trees to the rhythm of the wind remind us that we share a bond with nature. The sound of nature calls out to let go of fears and inhibitions and to be at peace with nature but in the materialistic humdrum of everyday life and the race to outdo everybody, we  turn our daggers of anger and insatiable wants towards the very factors of nature we should be at peace with and the sound of the lapping of waves at the shores or the buzzing of the honey-bees is drowned by the droning of chainsaws, the whirring of machines and the sirens of the ever increasing number of factories.

Isn’t it time for us to create a Utopia of our own where we, humankind learn to live in harmony with nature and tune our ears to the voice of the environment for peaceful co-existence?

Technology has undergone a revolutionary change down the ages and the high-end technology around us testifies of it.
