August is flooded with environmental activities as
CMS water audit Teams get going
CMS has launched a massive drive to save water. On the one
hand it is enforcing the three pronged strategy of reduce,
reuse and recycle water, while on the other hand it is also
making efforts to preserve ground water by rainwater
harvesting, preparing a plan for reverse boring and by
creating an awareness amongst the students, parents and
teachers on how to save water at home, in school and in
society. The month of August was full of intense activity as
CMS water audit teams at the campuses went all out to raise
awareness and check wastage of water in school.
Environmental Activities in CMS for the Month of July 2012
CMS has undertaken the new challenging task of generating
awareness drive for environmental protection, conservation
of water and saving electricity. With the commencement of
new session in July, senior students' audit teams were
formed in all the campuses. The students, teachers and
parents (in model class) were sensitized through several
ways and means like raising slogans by students outside the
campus (Anand Nagar), Green School Project awareness and
SUPW Projects and essay contest in class X (Gomti Nagar I)
debate and skit (Kanpur Road), posters and slogans put up on
relevant places (Rajajipuram II), role plays, group
discussion (RDSO) etc. Gomti Nagar Campus I appointed energy
monitors in every class to save energy, Dr V. Murthy briefed
students about in Indira Nagar Campus, labels were stuck on
the switch board and soft board (RDSO). The senior students
taught the junior students of their respective campuses
about water and energy conservation. All the campuses
organized poster making, collage, speech and slogan writing
competitions at primary, junior and senior levels. Most of
the campuses appointed energy monitors for awakening
students by reading out various tips to save water and
energy to constantly remind and create awareness among the
students.
