A three-member delegation from City Montessori
School (CMS) has been invited to participate in the 9th session
of Provisional World Parliament (PWP) being hosted by Revolutionary
Committees Movement of Libya and organised by World Constitution
and Parliament Association with the Institute World Problems,
USA and Sri Lanka at Tripoli from 10-15 April 2006. The delegation
is led by Mr R.S. Chandola, Head, World Unity and Peace
Education Department while Dr Preeti Shankar, Chief Editor of
CMS is the deputy leader. Mr Rishi Khanna, CMS webmaster is also
in the delegation which is scheduled to meet Col. Qaddafi, the
“Beloved Leader” of Libya on 14th April.
The Provisional World Parliament will be held at the famous Al
Kabir Hotel in Tripoli. Over 100 delegates from all over the world
are participating in the 9th PWP.
Speaking to the media, Mr Chandola the leader of the delegation
said that Col. Qaddafi is probably one of the most misunderstood
persons in the world. The western media has successfully painted
him as a fundamentalist Muslim when he has been exhorting Libyan
women to come out of the veil and acquire western education in
the sciences and medicine. As a result Libya is one of the few
countries in the world where more women that men, graduate from
college every year. Under Qaddafi, Mr Chandola said, Libya has
also become one of the very few countries where all medical facilities
are free not only for all Libyan citizens but also for foreign
visitors during their stay in the country. And Libyan hospitals
are equipped with the latest equipments and machines, he added.
