  1. Every institution will be represented by one participant from the school section and one from the college section.

  2. Participants will be provided a multimedia computer with Adobe Photoshop and MSPaint preinstalled.

  3. The topic which will be related to computers will be given on the spot.

  4. All the participating teams should bring their own scanned clippings & pictures in CD.

  5. Participants should give a caption/title for their entry.

  6. Time limit is 1.30 hrs.

  7. The collage will be assessed on the following basis:
    a) Composition 25 points
    b) Presentation 25 points
 
 
Topic: Software Piracy is a Theft
 
  1. jingle The jingle should be in English.

  2. The jingle should be in verse.

  3. The lyrics and tune of the jingle should be original.

  4. Three copies of lyrics should be submitted in advance for the judges’ convenience.

  5. Each institution should be represented by a team of five participants.

  6. The students will perform in school uniform.

  7. Extra points will be awarded for instruments used and played by the participants themselves.

  8. Time Limit : 3 minutes.

  9. The jingle will be assessed on the following basis of marks.
    a) Content 15
    b) Music 15
    c) Rhythm 10
    d) Overall Presentation 10
 
 
  1. Each team will be represented by one participant from the school section.

  2. The participants will be given a topic on the spot.

  3. They will be given 10 minutes to plan in advance after which the participant will be asked to work on the computer in Paint Brush.

  4. They will be given 40 minutes for the presentation.

  5. The presentation should be original and no importing of graphics will be allowed.

  6. The judges will assess on the basis of the following points :
    a) Overall presentation 10
    b) Use of Tool palettes 10
    c) Mouse Control 10
    d) Appropriate Caption 10
    e) Creativity 10

Topic: World Peace is the fruit that grows on the tree of Unity
 
  1. webtek Each institution should be represented by two participants from the School section.

  2. The participants should carry the source code of the website prepared and stored in a floppy disk (1.44 Mb) or in a CD.

  3. Participants will be provided with Multimedia computers with XP equipped with CD Drive, 15" colour monitor and speakers.

  4. Internet connection will not be provided for the presentation.

  5. Entries are restricted to 4 mb.

  6. The decision of the judges will be final.

  7. The judgement will be on the basis of following points:
    a) Content 30
    b) Coding 30
    c) Hyper-linking 15
    d) Overall presentation 25
 
 
  1. computer quiz A team of two participants each from the school and college sections should represent their institution.

  2. A preliminary elimination written round will be held to determine the finalists.

  3. The number of rounds for the quiz will be announced on the spot.

  4. The questions will be based on the past, present and future of computers.
 
 
TOPIC: Interactive Learning Tool for children
 

softekEach team should be represented by two participants from the college section (Classes XI & XII) who have to develop a software on the above mentioned topic.

The team should bring the package in 3.5” floppy disks or in a regular CD - ROM (both non returnable) along with one set of printouts explaining the package and having its source code. It is compulsory for the team to hand over the SEALED printouts, floppy disks or CDs at the time of judgement and not before that. No facility of taking the printouts will be available at the venue.

Teams may choose any software (for Win XP) to develop the package. The team must carry the software used to develop the presentation in their CDs or 3.5” floppies.

Computer Setup provided : Multimedia, CD Drive, 3.5” Drive, 15” Colour Monitor.

The presentation will be evaluated on the following points:

  1. 1 set of source code with explanation of the package      20
  2. No modification at the venue                                        10
  3. Compatibility issues                                                    10
  4. Graphics to make the package user friendly                   10

  6. Sound/Voice/Music                                                      10

computer wizard
 
  1. computer wizardThis competition is open for the college section only (Class XI and XII) to test their programming skills.

  2. A team of two students can participate from each college.

  3. The competition consists of programming solutions to five problems.

  4. The programs have to be developed in C++/Pascal/Java

  5. A total time of 2 hours will be given to each team. This period includes the time on the machine also.

  6. The judgement of the competition will be on the basis of viva and the logic of the program.

  7. Teams are not allowed to carry or refer to any printed reference material.

  8. The computer wizard will be assessed on the following basis:

    a) Logic 20

    b) Programming Skills 20

    c) Viva 10

Topics

Group A : The paperless office is a mirage; computers will not make paper and pencil obsolete

Group B : IT helps social integration

 

debateThe Debate will be held over two days. The team is expected to prepare on both the topics. A draw will be held on the day of registration to decide the Group.

  1. Two speakers will represent each team, one speaking for the motion and the other against the motion.

  2. Each speaker will speak for 3 minutes.

  3. A warning bell will be rung after 2.5 minutes.

  4. Any inaccurate fact presented by the participant regarding the topic will earn negative marks.

  5. A refutation round of 2 minutes will be held. The speaker will be expected to answer any question put up by the participants at that time. Straying off the topic will be penalised.

  1. turncoat Each team will be represented by one participant only.

  2. Each participant will be given half an hour to prepare the topic given to him/her. After that he/she will be given 4 minutes to speak on the topic , 2 minutes for the motion and 2 minutes against the motion.

  3. A buzzer will be pressed after the second minute, warning the participant to turncoat. A second buzzer will go after 4 minutes.

  4. The topic of the turncoat will be a general one.

  5. Judges will be instructed to ignore anything the participant says after the final buzzer.

  6. Marks will be awarded as follows:-
    (a) Content 20
    (b) Diction / Delivery 10
    (c) Spontaneity in change 10
    (d) Overall Presentation 10

  1. mathcomEach institution should be represented by two participants from the college section.

  2. This contest is based on mathematics related to computers.

  3. The participants will be required to solve 10 questions in one hour time.

  4. The questions will be on probability, binomial theorem, permutations & combinations, boolean algebra, sets & logic gates.

  5. The participant’s mathematical skills and logical applications will be judged.

NOTE: Each participating institution is expected to submit a maximum of six proposed problems with solutions latest by 5th August, 2010.

  2. This contest is based on Mathematical Intelligence .

  3. The participants will be required to solve 20 objective questions in one hour time.

  4. The questions will be in the form of brain teasers, which will test the sharpness and mental ability of the child.

  5. The questions will test the aptitude, analytical reasoning and logical expressions.
