A Little Brown Bird
A little brown bird,
Came hopping in my window.
I tried to catch it,
But it was so low.
I gave him some rice,
It came hopping to me.
The little brown sparrow,
Was a sweet little bird, you see.

Time never stops
Today I am nine
Tomorrow I will be ten
Because time never stops.
Today it is fifth.
Tomorrow it will be sixth
Because time never stops.
Today my friend is taller than me
Tomorrow I can be
Because time never stops.
Today I have sowed a seed
Tomorrow it will be a seedling
Because time never stops.
Today I am writing this poem
Tomorrow it will be finished
Because time never stops.

Without a teacher
We cannot imagine our life without teachers because teacher is the source of inspiration for students. Teachers always inspire the children to do good and to imbibe virtues in themselves. Without teachers in this world we are like trees with no fruits, we are books without pages and flowers with no nectar. The teacher always motivates the students to become total quality persons. Without teachers in this world, there will be no education and no knowledge.

At last, I want to say, respect the teachers for without them we are nothing in life. They are our second parents.

Diwali, Festival of Lights
Diwali or Deepawali is a famous Hindu festival. Deepawali means rows of lights. Just as one lamp lights another, in the same way we should spread the light of knowledge everywhere. There are many stories about its celebration, some say that Lord Krishna killed Narkasur on this day. So the people were glad. It is said that after killing Ravana Lord Rama returned to Ayodhya on this day.
It is a day when houses and shops are cleaned, whitewashed and decorated, lamps are put in every corner of the building. In the evening, people worship Lakshmi, the Goddess of wealth. It is a day of great joy and happiness, the markets are full of toys, sweets, pictures, candles and crackers. Everybody is in high spirits. Delicious dishes are prepared in every house. Some people gamble and lose. Gambling is an evil. Though it is associated with the fair name of Diwali, it should end.

Birthday Celebrations
I was waiting for my birthday to come and finally the day came when I celebrated my birthday. I got up in the morning and everybody wished me Happy Birthday. I was very happy that day. I had received many gifts like – bowling game, a house and a doll. The doll was very cute. I like it very much. Then we had the breakfast and then lunch.

My birthday was also celebrated in the school. All my friends and teachers wished me good luck. At home also, my mother had planned to celebrate my birthday. In the evening, my friends had come and we enjoyed very much. I got so many gifts that I was not able to count. My mother prepared dishes which I like the most, like Pasta, Chhole-Bhature and a huge chocolate cake. We played many games.

COOKIES
I open the little cupboard
With a teeny tiny key,
And there's a jar of lollipops
For me, me, me
It has a little shelf, my dear
As dark as dark can be,
And there's a tin of chocolate cookies
For me, me, me.
I have a cuddly grand mama,
As sweet as sweet can be,
Who's the keeper of the cupboard
With the key, key, key.
And when I'm very good, my dear
As good as good can be,
There are chocolates, cookies and lollipops
For me, me, me.

DUSSEHRA
Dussehra is one of the important festivals of Hindus. It generally falls in the month of October. It is celebrated in the memory of Ram's victory over Ravan or the victory of good over evil. Dussehra celebrations last for ten days. For the first nine days, Ram Leela is played in different parts of the country. On Dushehra day the effigies of Ravan, Kumbhkaran and Meghnath are burnt. Preparations are made several days before this festival. Houses and markets are decorated. Dussehra festival teaches us that we should be obedient, loving and fearless. It also teaches us that truth and courage win in the long run. It also teaches us morality. Right from childhood, we should be truthful and honest. We can lead an ideal life by following Ram's example.

My School
'CMS' —there it stands,
It was started by a pair of hands,
It is so wonderful and great,
It looks beautiful and up-to-date.
The Principal is always so kind,
Full of generosity and a broad mind
All our teachers do their duty,
This gives them charm and beauty.
To me my school is a sacred institution
Where we all get the best of education
'CMS' as we call it.
I am proud I joined it.
To me it will ever remain dear.
In my heart so very near.

My first day in school
I was three years old when I got admission in CMS in Montessori Class. I was very happy because I had a new school bag, a new tiffin and a new water bottle to take to school.

I woke up early in the morning, had breakfast, wore my new uniform and went off happily with my father to school. When I reached school, I saw many children in my class. Some were smiling and talking to each other and some were crying. All the children had come with their parents. But as the parents left, the children started crying.

My father told me that he would come and take me home after three hours. He told me not to cry as I was grown up by then.
After my father left, I felt sad for some time but then the teacher gave us sweets and many story books with lovely pictures. Then we played with blocks. I made many new friends. When the bell rang we sat out in the sun and ate our tiffins. Then our teacher taught us rhymes and we sang and danced. When my father came to pick me up, I was very sad to leave my friends but I looked forward to meeting them again the next day.

Thank you, teacher!
Softly the leaves of memory will fall.
Slowly I will gather them all
Today or tomorrow when my life is through
I will be glad to have a teacher like you
For friendship you share
For the ways you care
For the time you are there.
Ma'am you are special beyond compare.
I just want to say 'Take care'
One day the pages of my life will end
I know you will be its best chapter
If ever I get the opportunity
To read it again
I'll open the page from where I met you.

When I became a Super Hero
One day, I was sitting at home. It was a chilly and foggy day and I was seeing the photo of Krish which was in front of me. Instantly, a light came and Krish was standing right in front of me. He ran very fast holding my hand and put his leg on a box and after that, there was darkness everywhere. Then a light came and Krish asked me to sit on the chair and Krish also sat on the other chair. He told me that there was a villain named Romeo who had stolen his father's machine in which we could see the future. He was crying. He said, "Please help me in fighting Romeo". I agreed to help him and we made a plan. He touched my hand and I also attained superhuman powers and was very happy. Then we went on the building but there was tight security. Then we went to a fountain which threw water after every five seconds. We sat on it but the plan failed because Romeo had seen his future in the machine which showed that we were coming to kill him and he sent his security to catch us. Krish and I started fighting with them. I broke the wall and threw all the stones at them. Krish also beat them with his powers. All of them were dead but Romeo was alive. I told Krish to take the machine and rescue his father. He went to do this. Romeo gave me a punch and I fell on a box. Romeo felt pain. Again, I punched the box and he felt pain. I understood that there is life of Romeo in this box. I took a knife and stabbed the box several times and at last Romeo was killed. Then I heard a sound – wake up my son, it is early morning you have to go to school and it's getting late. What a dream it was!

My Pet Cat
My pet cat,
She likes to sit on mat.
When I play with my bat,
She runs to chase a rat
When I touch her bow,
She likes to lick my toe.
She blinks her eyes,
When I hug her twice.
She looks into her bowl,
To drink the milk whole
My Kitty plays with a woollen ball,
And takes it to the garden wall
My pet is very dear to me,
It always remains near to me.

Nature
Oh! how beautiful is nature
With bird in the sky,
That loves to fly
With fish in the sea
That stops and looks at me
And crabs in their shells
That come out on the sand.
How beautiful are the mountains
The river that flows so fast
The green trees
And the valleys that go past.
The fragrance of the flowers
Bring cheer to our nose
And the animals in the forest
That don't come too close
These are all Mother Nature's Ploy
To make our life colourful and joy.

JUMBO, THE ELEPHANT
Jumbo the elephant went for a walk one day. The sky was blue and it was a lovely day. What a lovely time. I am having, he thought.

He saw the beautiful flowers along the way. He walked on everything in his path without looking, crushing it with his feet. “Oh what's this?" Jumbo cried out in pain. He had stepped on an ant and it had bitten him. 'Boo woo! Jumbo cried all the way home.

The worm
When the earth is turned in spring
The worms are fat as anything
And birds come flying all around
To eat the worms as much as I
Like bread and milk and apple pie
And once, when I was very young
I put a worm right on my tongue
I didn't like the taste a bit
And so I didn't swallow it,
But oh! it makes my mother squirm
Because she thinks I ate that worm.

THE LITTLE ELF - MAN

I met a little Elf-man once
Down where the lilies blow
I asked him why he was so small
And, why he didn't grow.

He slightly frowned, and with his eye
He looked me through and through
I'm just as big for me, said he,
As you are big for you!

The book I like most
I have read some nice books but the book which I like most is 'The Makers of India.' When I stood first in my class, I got the book as a prize. The book is very interesting and it teaches us a lot. It describes the life, work and teachings of great leaders and religious teachers of India.
The first lesson is about Lord Buddha. He was a prince but he left home to seek truth. The second lesson is about Mahatma Gandhi. He was the real son of India. He served his country. He also served the poor people. His heart was filled with the love.

A World Without Children
No children means no laughter, no enjoyment and the world would be full of boring people. No children in the world means an apple without a seed, a kite without a thread. If there would be no children in the world for whom would the school be made, whom will the teacher teach and for whom will the parents give money? So now we can say for certain that no children means the end of the world.
