Mrs Nisha Pandey became Principal, CMS Anand Nagar Campus in 2011. |

| "Chirping like birds of many a colour and size
We are growing up, strong and wise." |
|
| Mrs Nisha Pandey, the Principal of CMS Anand Nagar, bristles with energy and enthusiasm as she capably handles her campus and meets the challenges that come in her way. It is Mrs Pandey's special ability to understand the problems of each child going into the background history and talking to the parents to know the psychological behaviour of the children. She is very open to sharing her ideas and receptive to new teaching methodologies. A global thinker with CISV experience, Mrs Pandey is trying to create a global mindset in each child so that they give up age old prejudices and grow up in an atmosphere of love and harmony. Many of the children of her campus have won laurels and prizes in debates, singing, music, art, painting and dance. The institution has great hopes from Mrs Pandey and wishes her all the best in future. |

| Education is to be enjoyed and imbibed for life |
City Montessori School, Anand Nagar, is a 49 year old school. We feel 'wise' on one hand, when we look at the established identity we enjoy as an institution where learning is purposeful, progressive and empowering. On the other hand, we feel the excitement of an initiate because each day executed well makes us eager to learn, to explore, to experiment and absorb more.
Academic excellence has always been the hallmark of our campus and we are committed to providing a comprehensive education which seeks to develop the students into academically proficient, morally upright and socially well integrated individuals.
We aim at holistic education and prepare each one of our students to meet all the challenges head on in our life. It is our aim and desire that students conduct themselves in an exemplary manner. They should be torch bearers of the Indian Culture and Heritage and simultaneously be equipped to become global citizens with the modern and scientific temperament and be recognized as students of excellent character who make a valuable contribution to the society.
As with Parker J Palmer, I believe that 'Good teaching…. is rooted in the identity and integrity of the teacher. Good teaching takes myriad forms but good teachers share one trait: they are authentically present in the classroom, deeply concerned with their students and their subjects. These are held in the teacher's heart, the place where intellect, emotion and spirit converge in the human self. Good teachers weave a life-giving web between themselves, their subjects and their students, helping their students learn how to weave a world for themselves.'
We are 821 strong in our student resource with 36 accomplished teachers supporting these students in gearing up to meet the challenges and opportunities of this rapidly changing world.
With each academic session we are growing in strength and achievement on all fronts and are proud of our multi-faceted growth.
All this is not possible without constant support of the parents and the trust they repose in our competent staff; we value their suggestions which help us grow from strength to strength. It is our endeavour to work in tandem for the benefit of our children.
I extend my gratitude to our Respected Founder-Manager, Dr Jagdish Gandhi and the Founder-Director, Dr Bharti Gandhi for their continuous motivation, guidance and support. I also express my gratitude to Mrs Susmita Basu, Head of the Quality Assurance and Innovations Department for her guidance and encouragement. |

Greetings to all! By the grace of the Almighty, another session, 2010-2011, has come to an end and reflecting back gives me a great sense of satisfaction and accomplishment. Like yesteryears , with a strong belief in our hearts, determination and zeal to do our best, all members of our branch — students and teachers — marched ahead to attain the highest standards of intellectual and personal development.
A plethora of activities were organized to attain these goals, the lively morning assemblies, class presentations, inter-house competitions, special Saturday activities, summer sports camp, CISV mini camp etc. Members of the student council played a significant role in organizing these events.
The most important event of the session, the 8th Eureka International, was a great success, both in terms of participation of teams and the conduct of the event. Teams from 60 schools participated in the event, giving our children an opportunity to compete and learn to live with people from diverse cultures at this tender age.
Our four young Ambassadors of peace, Pranjali, Mritunjay, Gaurav and Ajeet led by Mr Ashish Benjamin participated in the month long CISV Camp in Ohio, USA. We also had the privilege of sending a delegation of four children led by Ms Richa Bhatt to attend the month long CISV International camp held in Lucknow.
An added feather to our cap was the selection of Srishti Pal as the Horlicks Wiz Kid representative of Lucknow in the junior category. She gained tremendous exposure at the National level event held in Bangalore.
Our global vision inspired local action as well. Our students collected old clothes and went to distribute the same, with their teachers in slum areas, streets and orphanages and tried to bring smiles on the faces of the needy on Diwali.
All this and much more would not have been possible without the enthusiastic children, the very supportive and ever-ready staff members and the trust and co-operation of the parents. My gratitude to all. I would also like to take this opportunity to convey my best wishes to all for the coming session.
I would like to put on record my sincere thanks to our Founder Manager and Director for laying down the blue print of World Peace and Vasudhaiv Kutumbkam for us as an inspiration to work upon. |
