Thank you for your letter inviting the Right Honorable Jean Chretien to be the guest of honor at the 2nd International Conference of Chief Justices of the World at Lucknow, India on December 23rd 2001.

While the Prime Minister very much appreciates your invitation, his schedule precludes him from attending.. however, he has asked me to send his very best wishes for a productive conference.
