Dear Mr. Gandhi,

Thank you for your recent letter. I was moved by your kind workds, by our inspired and dedicated work on behalf of educating so many young children. Their lives are of paramount importance to me and therefore I so wish I could accept your invitation to participate in your conference on 6th-8th December 2002.

Unfortunately, I regret that I must decline – my schedule is already terrible heavily and it is impossible for me to accept any additional commitments.
