Jimmy Carter

December 6 2002

To Jagdish Gandhi

It is a great honor to be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, particularly as The Carter Center celebrates its 20th anniversary. Rosalyn and I deeply appreciate this affirmation of the importance and effectiveness of the Center’s mission to wage peace fight disease, and build hope around the world.

Our work and this international recognition are only possible because of the partners we are blessed to have. Because of your encouragement and support, millions of people have better lives and hope for their families. In a very real sense, you share the Nobel Peace Prize with us. We thank you for your friendship and believing in our work.

Sincerely,
