G.J.C. Strydom

20 November 2002

Dear Dr Gandhi,
May I take this opportunity to congratulate City Montessori School on being awarded the UNESCO Prize for Peace Education 2002. This is well deserved bearing in mind the way in which the school, over the years, promoted education in this field, also by means of high profiled Conferences addressed by experts on this subject. I am most happy that your good work was rewarded in this way.

May I also thank you for your kind invitation, extended to me, to attend the coming international conference on the 6th to 8th December. Unfortunately I must yet again inform you that it is impossible for me to attend the Conference. I wish you well with your endeavors. I am sure that the standard, as always, will be of the highest order and that those who attend the Conference will leave there inspired with what they have learned. I am also sure that the international acknowledgment that you have received for your work will serve as an inspiration to continue with your quest.

I am
Yours sincerely

G.J.C. STRYDOM
CHIEF JUSTICE OF THE REPUBLIC OF NAMIBIA
