Dear Mr. Gandhi,
Please accept my sincere gratitude for your kind invitation
to attend the 3rd International Conference of Chief Justices
of the World on Article 51(c) of the Constitution of India
as the Guest of Honour. And, though, due to some obligations
planned already, I will be unable to participate at this
important forum, I sincerely upheld the highlight of the
Conference — appeal to the World Judiciary by CMS
students — requesting to ensure peaceful and safe
future for the world’s children. I heartily share
the people’s concern on present world tensions and
injustice, absence of International law which might be the
only instrument to resolve any disputes in the world. In
this sense, meaning of the Article 51(c) on fostering respect
for international law, has indeed great significance. In
context of current events, progress of peace, mutual respect
and good relations between nations is an urgent need. And,
normally, children who will live in future, appeal against
threat of nuclear holocaust, terrorism and environmental
degradation. In spite of their skin color, religious beliefs,
they wish to live in peace to have right to education and,
of course right to be loved. I share and appreciate sincere
inspirations of the CMS students on behalf of world’s
two billion children to create world where Law could take
the most honourable place. I am convinced that all judges
should unite their efforts to help our children.
Please accept my best wishes for the success
of the Conference and for your valuable mission to establish
world full of peace, justice and freedom.
