We, Judges assembled at the 9th International Conference of Chief Justices of the World held at Lucknow, India, from 12-15 December 2008, having considered the appeal of the 35,000 children of City Montessori School, Lucknow- on their own behalf and one behalf of the children of the world - for a safe environment and peaceful world to be governed by International Law,

REAFFIRM the Resolution of the 7th International Conference of the Chief Justices of the World (2006) and the Lucknow Declaration adopted at the 8th International Conference of the Chief Justices of the World (2007),

HEREBY RESOLVE:

1. To work to make peace, human rights and cross-cultural education an essential part of the school curricula throughout the world;
   
   
2. To endeavor to make education in International Law an essential requirement of law courses as well as of continuing judicial training;
   
   
3. To prepare  training material to assist judicial officers in the interpretation and application of domestic law in the light of international law and conventions for the benefit of the present and future generations;
   
   
4. To endeavor to make degradation of the environment universally recognized as a crime against humanity;
   
   
5. To establish a follow-up committee to address the concerns and take forward the work of the various International Conferences of Chief Justices of the World.
